Smog City Appreciation

Coincidence or not, I'm pretty happy about this! I'll be in town for a wedding that weekend and was initially going to try and make it up to the Barrelworks release but decided against trying for tickets once i realized that I would most likely miss the ceremony or at the least, be very late. For future reference, do you get your bottles at the Barrelworks releases immediately or is it a party/event kind of thing and then you claim them at the end? I was thinking that I could have done it if I got them right at noon and immediately left and hoped for the 3 hour drive to take less than 5 hours. Oh well, that ship has long since sailed and Smog City is less than an hour away from the ceremony so this works out much better!

 

The instant the party starts at 11am, the back door to the brewhouse opens and you can go collect your bottles. I did this for last liberation, stashed bottles in the car, then went inside. So I was like 10 minutes late to getting in but only had to stand in a line of 5 ppl to grab the bottles beforehand.

 

Damn, I guess I should have asked this before the tickets went on sale. I could have stayed for 1 hour and left at noon and I *think* made it back by 5pm. Good to know if the timing ever works out like that again. Thanks!

 

Yeah. Unless there was some serious traffic, you would have been back to the LA area well before 5 if you left Barrelworks at noon.

 

It's also a very pretty drive on the 101 too.

 

Girlfriend was able to walk in and out in about 20 minutes last time while I was attending Firestone Invitational. Should be able to make it there this time

 

Hype train is starting to pick up steam. Based on all the recent shitshow releases, I wouldn't expect another twenty minute stroll through this time.

 

So cuddlebug is released this saturday? i cant find any official info on it except comments on this thread

Sorry if its been previously addressed, but you guys don't fill blank growlers correct? If you don't, any plans in the future or do you guys stand firm on the stance like Russian River does?

The growler design is pretty sweet but I just rather not have a surplus of growlers.

no, we don't currently fill other brewery's or blank growlers but are considering designing tags that would allow us to fill blank growlers only. We understand the overabundance issue…we just cleaned house recently too. More on that to come.

Is Cuddlebug wine-barrel aged or non-BA?

 

I believe it's a kettle sour, non BA. They have a quick turn around on batches then bottle condition. The last release was April if I recall. I'm excited for this release it's really good in bottles, more fruit flavor. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Thanks, but please do more than just consider it--make it a priority. A lot of us here aren't getting fills because we don't want to add more branded growlers to our collections. The last fill I got anywhere was of 1Up at HPB and it's because they filled my blank swing top growler. Your pals next door fill blanks--so should you.

 

I just wish they would add 32oz or 1 liter growlers to the mix. Branded or not.
