Just confirmed my travel arrangements for the Beat release. I'll be at RR on that Saturday as well for the Cantillon event. Looking forward to my first trip (finally) to RR.

What time should I plan on being there? I don't want to be first in line. I was thinking of showing up at 8 or 9, do my hour or two in line and then be free to walk into the restaurant around 11. Am I dreaming? Based on previous releases is this possible?

Last year we showed up a bit before 8 and were in line till 3PM. This year may be better, but I'm definitely not betting on it.

Well... Famous last words but I imagine this new system will grind pretty fast. It's too bad they are selling their other stuff bedsides beat cause that will slow things down a little but I do think that since you aren't dealing with the zoo of tables, waiters, drinks at the bar etc it should crank. At least I hope so. Would be great for many reasons if people could just walk up and buy bottles in a reasonable time frame... not the least of which being that it might discourage campers in the future if they realize they slept on the streets for nothing.

Anyone know how traffic is on 101 North from San Francisco to Santa Rosa on Sundays in the late afternoon?

If you think you're getting a table without a 4-5 hour wait time unless one of the folks in your crew sacrifices their space/and six bottles to line up for the pub, you're living in a dream world. Just imagine, all those who just got out of the line and bought their bottles will be just forming another line to get into the pub. Backing that shit up for a couple of hours easily.

Much like the last release, you'll be lucky to get into the pub by the afternoon if you show up early. The line will move fairly fast, I imagine around 2-3 transactions per minute or so. But yeah, extra bottles factored in will slow it down some. But with 8am sell time, it just means that going to the car and then creating a cluster fuck of a line up for the pub is pretty much the given.

Yup. Sunday was the easy peasy day. Since it was 1000 cases (though, it was a case limit), bottles lasted until Monday. But Saturday was a complete shit show with there being two lines. One for table service and one for bottles only. Oddly enough, the table service line moved a shit ton faster while the bottles only line moved at a snails pace.

People left with a couple of cases each because of the confusion and why they're only doing sales out the back this time.
But I got there around 6 or 7 and the line was already wrapped around the block towards the end of the parking area. the line split helped, but man, it was a long wait.

Hard to predict I know but if I get there an hour before 8am, do I still have a chance?
Or am I going to have to get there 3-4 hours prior?

Yeah I actually kind of think that if they find an effective way to police people from doubling up on their allocation then it might last a day. Who knows... by afternoon it might even be as simple as walking up and slapping down six $20s. That would be great....

I know HIll Farmstead has a system to prevent people getting back in line and buying more bottles by tracking IDs. Maybe RR can institute a similar policy?

It really shouldn't be difficult. Just swipe the ID in the computer and it should register the DL# or name. But I don't think they're to that level just yet.

It'll probably be meh through Marin up to Novato. It will suck through Petaluma. It'll open up and be fine once you get north of petaluma.

Do we think this will still be available Monday afternoon? It's the earliest I can get there.

Last time, it lasted until Monday. But it wasn't released the same weekend as Zwanze Day. It's really anyone's guess at this point.
