Just cracked open a can tonight and didn't get any glue smell. Mostly lemongrass and citrus hops in mine.

Damn, I really hope it was just an odd can or two, because I thought it would have been great otherwise.

I haven't gotten any glue smell yet but I've noticed a tremendous amount of variation between batches. The first batch I had, on draft, had a distinct vomit aroma and I gave the beer a low score on here. The second time, draft again, it tasted like a berliner hopped with a very citrusy/tropical hop and was delicious, updated my rating. Third time, this time in cans purchased on the same visit as the citrusy/tropical taste, tasted like a can of pickle juice. Had my fourth experience tonight and it as like a subdued/grainy pickle juice. It seems there's some serious batch variation right now and possibly some dry hop changes as well, at least in my opinion.

They're selling Grapefruit Sculpin for $22.99 there, so I guess that one's staying on the shelf for awhile. Same sixer is like $7 cheaper right across the street at Lost Dog, I think.

How much does Nouveau Rouge go for in DC? I'm seeing it in the neighborhood of $20 in NoVA.

Not sure. I think similar if I remember. I am in PA though. But I think last time I bought it it was like $17.99

Thank you for all of this info.

I was able to get Solar Abyss at Smoke & Barrel. The beer — and that tap list — were phenomenal. Food was very good also. Went to Roofer's Union across the street after.

Also got a few beers and a sixer of OTWOA at the brewery.

Finally, I spent a good half hour at the Whole Foods on P Street that you guys always talk about. I picked up a 4 pack/6 pack/bomber of the following:
    • Union Double Duckpin
    • Clown Shoes Space Cake
    • Duck Rabbit Rabid Duck (asked for this in NC two weeks ago, and I got the whole "it's a limited seasonal release, and we sell out")
    • Stillwater Yacht
    • Schlafly pumpkin
    • Kentucky bourbon barrel pumpkin
    • Saucony Creek maple mistress pumpkin
I would not usually have bought all of these, but I was pleasantly surprised at DC beer prices. Much cheaper than PA (taxes).

Was at Modern Liquors which is 9th and M NW yesterday, said they would get it next week. Their prices for the FW stuff are usually pretty high though. They do have a growler station and they got a keg of Double Duck Pin on Tuesday though. Overall it's a decent store, good selection most of their prices are just a little higher than average, but their specialty beers l like FW etc. have a bigger mark up.

Double Duck Pin is also at P street whole foods for fills, although I'm not sure why you would get a fill instead of buying cans. Also all the Bourbon County stuff has been kicked.

Is this a heads up that it's hitting already or that it's on the way next week? May hit up a few places on the way home tonight to scope it out.

Anyone care to know that Alpine is now available in MD? Wow! Alpine Nelson on tap at Frisco's in Columbia. Downtown Crown in Gburg has 3 on draft. Wonder if bottles are coming too.

I asked Dawson's about Alpine bottles. They said the rep told them only 1/2 kegs for MD.

I was at DTC when they tapped alpine. Got 2 64oz growlers of Nelson, duet and hoppy birthday no problem. The place was kind of dead compared to a usual Friday night. I stopped in Sunday and they were still on but running low. I guess with Labor Day everyone was out of town. I was told that kegs will be coming to the area regularly and bottles might start to dropping in the fall.
