New Tired Hands to open next week.....

Headed over to the Fermentaria this weekend. Anything I should look out for? Food, drink, etc? Was planning to get there around noon on Sat. Assuming getting a seat at the bar shouldn't be an issue? They offer flights/tasters or just pints? Saw they only fill their own growlers but offer growler swap. Even swap or do I have to pay extra for theirs?

 

- You should be able to get a seat at the bar Saturday at noon
- No flights, but they serve in 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz sizes
- Yes, they swap growlers. I have never seen anyone take them up on it though. Their growlers are $5 for either 32oz swingtops or 64oz screwtops.

 

I've seen a few people swap.

 

I've swapped. I didn't even have to say anything; I just put my dull 32 oz screwtop on the bar at the Fermentaria, and they gave me a 1L TH swingtop and asked what I wanted to put in it.

 

Visited the Fermentaria last Sunday, real nice space... very well laid out and great setup, couldn't believe how big it was actually.

 

Does TH have any bottles regularly available at the Fermentaria, or just on special releases?

 

No bottles regularly available. Only available on release days.

TH will be canning Hop Hands in the 16-oz format starting this fall.

 

Excellent! I was starting to lose hope.

 

I've actually never tried Hop Hands, but have liked/loved every other IPA I've had by them. Any packaged Tired Hands beer is exciting to me!

Does tired hands updated their tap list anywhere? Was thinking of taking my first trip there this weekend and noticed the tap list hasn't been updated since 9/10

 

For the Fermentaria, what I do is go to their Facebook page and look at the pic for the most recent posting of the newest draft, then enlarge the photo because they usually post a pic of the glass with the tap list in the background.
For the cafe I also use Facebook but it's not always immediately clear what's been replaced when they post a new draft. I have no doubt you will get some solid info on here though

Also a warning that it's Pope weekend, depending on your route there may be some heavier than normal traffic

This weekend might not be a great idea. Like guzzle said, the pope will be in philly and it will be insanely busy and hard to get there from jersey.

but they update their 2 instagram accounts and fb accounts pretty regularly with tap lists and new stuff on tap.

or if you have untappd, check what people are drinking there.

 

I would do a reality check on any route you get from GPS or mapping application versus the road closures this weekend. If you do go, just be prepared for traffic issues.
