I missed out on the '13 release and being Beat is one of the few RR releases I've yet to try I plan on going. I work the afternoon of the 20th so unfortunately I can't stick around to try it on draft because it's about a 2-hour trek each way, but I anticipate showing up between 6 and 7am.

I probably won't go for a full allocation of Beat. I just want to try it. I'll probably do 4, two for me and two for my trade buddy, a bottle of Cons for the cellar and some PtE and BP for myself and work buddies.

I'm happy to hear Beat will be on draft for a minute. I was gonna buy 3 for myself so I could have 1 to try and 2 to rest, but if I can go back in a few weeks and still try it I'll save bottle allocations for some other poor soul who also gets sucked into this horse shit that is RR.

This will probably be the last time I go to RR for any release. It's not worth it anymore. I did FFaC this year cause I hadn't previously had it, but passed on PtY. That place is a fucking zoo. I'd rather just drive out to Rare Barrel whose sours are IMO just as good if not superior. Hell, I could just as easily go to SARA and spend the day relaxing on the beach drinking beer instead of wasting my life waiting in line.

I won't say I'd rather go to Walmart, but going to a RR release is a close second. The DMV has more order than that place.

I love how there's nothing but complaints about RR in that post and yet, you're going for Beat. And I love the Rare Barrel but you're crazy if you think they are superior to RR.

RR should just do BPT for their releases, allow no proxies, and limited pickup window. Allow them to spread out the crowds over a week, but they probably enjoy the shit show that ensues with any of their releases, as does the local businesses.

Shit shows get them in the news for free publicity. Pretty sure they don't do ticketed releases for that reason, despite how easy it is nowadays. I've lined up for Beat since b4, but I'm probably skipping this year because I'll just head up for the metered FfaC release mid week instead and try both at the same time.

I was thinking of a way to try Beat on tap the 20th but I think I like your plan a lot better.

Edit: forgot to say got it down as a pre trade so I guess it isn't done until he gets the bottles

Why wouldn't cuddlebug land beat. I've had ppl ask me.

But anyways....can't wait to grab my supply of Beat. Hopefully grandma can make it safely.

I don't disagree with any of these recs, but if you're not wanting to spend too much $, avoid Mikkeller. A burger and two beers will set you back $40+ there.

It's pretty much packed at all times now. Same with Lagunitas and Cellarmaker (except maybe during OSL and Burning Man). This is the new normal.

The process for Younger was much more organized this year, featuring wrist bands with tearaway tabs (to limit consumption to three). I would guess they have a better process for the Beat bottle release too.

I'm very excited about this release! Missed out on the previous release and was the odd man out in convo's about how great this beer is. Full allotment for me but hope the line isn't too bad.

I'm pretty sad about not being able to make it up for this. But, I'll be able to get up for the FfaC release so all is right in the world.
