Smog City Appreciation

Agree with above. You guys need to jump on the bandwagon like some of the other great brewery's who fill blanks/other brewery's. And don't say it's because it's our taps we cannot fill other growlers. I've seen a lot of other places fill all types of growlers. I have over 30 growlers. I so fuking tired buying growlers!

Is HPB filling blanks? When I was up there last weekend they told me no.

 

I didn't know I said angry. If I did I apologize. But no...me no angry. Just tired with some brewery's not going the blank or other growler rule. I have growlers from Smog, ABC, KRBC, etc, etc. just wish they and others would give those newbies a break. Take note from AZ, NV and other states and go with the flow. That is all.

Yeah, I stopped by last night for a sec. Wasn't too bad. Nice setup, though a bit crowded with event, Chargers game and Dodgers game (among others). Will probably give it another shot soon. It's pretty much immediately off the 405 (El Segundo Blvd exit).

 

Damn, I work near 405/Rosecrans so that sounds perfect

 

Not that I would condone drinking in public (well behind Smog's taproom), but is anybody bringing anything to sip on in line tomorrow?

Torrance is probably not the best city to do this in, just saying. Plus I dunno if the business next door are open on Saturday would like that.

 

They are selling bottles out of the back roll up so my guess is the line will be along the back wall (which is still part of Smog's parking lot). I wouldn't have mentioned anything if this was going in the front to interfere with the Doggy Day Care.
I doubt Torrance PD is going to harass people in line as long as people aren't being stupid about what they are drinking. Starbucks cups can double as beer cups...

 

I have to be in Long Beach at 4PM, trying to convince my wife on the way down we should stop. Cuddlebug was her favorite beer at LA Beer Week Kickoff, so I am trying to use that as ammo to get her to stop. She will probably want to go over to Monkish instead.

 

Take a "bathroom break" at Monkish and sneak off in an Uber to Smog.

 

Or just walk? You'd be there in the time it took to wait for an Uber.

 

The ride in an Uber would cost me the same amount of money as a beer would, and the beer would be in my hand by the time I waited for it to arrive.

What I normally try to do is park on the street near Smog, then if it is too busy go to Monkish, or stay if it is a bit clear, and then move the opposite way when the crowd moves.

I think I can probably just offer to buy dinner to get my way and go to Smog.

 

Do you guys think this release will be a "stand in line an hour before opening or get shut out" kind of release or "yeah it'll probably sell out but not until later in the day" sort of thing?
