I've been doing it all wrong.

Minhas beers cannot get worse, but can lighting them on fire make them better? I would use Minhas in my slug traps, but I don't hate slugs that much. "Minhas beer is proof that God loves us, but not unconditionally"- B. Canklin

Greetings, NBSers! Today has been a day filled with new music, new beer, gardening, some reading, and soon some great pizza. Today's beer was this bottle, received as an extra in recent trade (thanks again Jon!):

A nice bourbon barrel aged stout with notes of coffee and vanilla, it was enjoyed while recording my annual summertime chillout mix. Listen or download it here:

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday and a safe, productive week. Cheers!

Better than Nugget Nectar, imo. Huge thanks to Beerworld for throwing this in as extra.

Please focus on reviewing new beer. Method of delivery (can, bottle, keg, cask, etc) has never been nor ever will be an NBS focus.

    Thanks!

Well, the mayor of Geezerville and his wife ( my friends Nancy & Jim, two of the finest people I have ever met) walked into the bar as I was getting ready to leave. Not one to pass up a chance to share their company, I figured one last brew for NBS was in order. A nicely pleasant Rauch: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18081/84018

Wait, I mis-read your username! I thought you were "Caveman Dave" in which case you would know that fire improves EVERYTHING, especially Minhas beers. Remember, Stroh's was proud to be "Fire-Brewed".

    Happy NBS to all...
I did my monthly Sunday overtime today. I was very happy to be inside an airconditioned building making triple-time on this hot and humid day on Long Island.
I decided to crack open this beer to enjoy with my bbq'd porterhouse steak...

    Rajah's IPA from Harmon Brewing.

A questionable IPA at best. Overly sweet, overly big, with a clinging cloying character. Everything you would not want in either a woman or a beer.

Dog days of summer here in the Columbia Basin. Hot and not a breath of wind.

    Happy Trails!

    New Saison Sunday

A muggy and largely overcast day here in Southern, CT and characteristic of recent weeks, terribly hot. We had family in town for a great visit and relaxation this weekend. After they left some chores were completed and now on to this offering from Rock Art:

    Not a bad beer.

    New CANned Beer Sunday!

I was not trying to have others focus on serving style, just me. I have long disliked that many people feel excluded on this site and wanted to invite them to join in on my fun. That said, I was hoping to get in a couple of more CANs before Midnight (EST), but I am a) running out of steam and b) running out of time. I began just after Midnight on Saturday/Sunday with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/4425/26153/?ba=woodychandler trying to keep it light. I followed that with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1549/17141/?ba=woodychandler trying to dial it in. After that, I went into the woods with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/94/3636/?ba=woodychandler and then hibernated for a bit. Once back on track, I went with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26762/73576/?ba=woodychandler remembering my mother's asking me if I had been drinking all day. I replied that in order to do so, I would have to start in the morning. Today was just that day. I went on with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2930/67516/?ba=woodychandler and then http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/92/4586/?ba=woodychandler Enough with the lagers! On to the ales, beginning with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10607/80745/?ba=woodychandler followed by http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/15280/42959/?ba=woodychandler and then http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/21193/70396/?ba=woodychandler after which I drank http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/25370/68276/?ba=woodychandler and finished (for the moment) with http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2200/6916/?ba=woodychandler

That was one way to spend a day and whether you CAN join me or not, you CAN always follow my exploits.

    Until the next time ...

** New Double Stout Sunday **

I don't have a can to review, but opened up my 2011 Abyss that was just at the "best after" date this weekend.

It's still freaking hot in Tennessee but tonight seemed just fine to finish off with a strong stout:
