I'll be working, so I can't make it. The inclusion of Societe beers would've sealed the deal for me otherwise.

They should list kegged on date instead of IBUs :sunglasses:

I remember going to the Bistro for my birthday "back in the day" about 10 years ago.Where in the world can they put all that beer ? Or have they expanded? We actually went there AFTER going to Buffalo Bill's.One of the first brew pubs that I ever knew of.

They take over the sidewalk and part of the street outside. For the DIPA festival they take over basically the whole block.

Went yesterday and had a good time as usual. Highlights for me included Fat Heads, RR Hopfather, Bear Republic Triskels Rebellion and Drake Aroma Coma.
I was the dude in the Tool shirt with the pretzel necklace that some people thought was the coolest thing they ever saw (pretzel necklace). That was bizarre for sure.

Great fest. I was supposed to start my shift pouring around 2, but started around 11:30. Great thing was I was posted up right in front of Hopfather...and had my fair share.

    Congrats to the winners.

1st Place: Fat Heads Head Hunter
    2nd Place: Ballast Point Sculpin
    3rd Place: Triple Rock Greenhorn
    People's Choice: Drakes Aroma Coma

Head Hunter huh? I gotta try that one. I usually love 3R's IPAs...need to try GreenHorn too!

What was your take on those two HopHead?

Head Hunter was very tasty, as was the Greenhorn. They were definitely 2 standouts among the many other IPA's. One of my favorites was the IPA Santa Adairius brought with them...met the owners/employees from there as well, great people. Also the 2 Societe beers, the Apprentice and the Dandy, were favorites of mine as well.

Head Hunter is excellent! The Sante Adairius was called 831 IPA and is tasty as well.

Man, I thought Head Hunter was the worst beer I tried there. Everyone was going crazy for it, I thought it was completely forgettable. I think this happens every single Bistro fest, I'm always underwhelmed by the winners.

At least the people got it right this time. (Prieta or Hopfather would have been acceptable too.)

To be honest, I only had a tiny taste of Head Hunter. It was the first beer I tasted, so maybe I was just impressed with my first IPA of the day.

I believe Hopfather was left out of the voting because some say it's a IIPA....which is silly.

See, that's the kind of thing they should tell you. Almost everyone in my group voted for it.

Isn't it like 7.25%? That's preposterously low for a DIPA. Terrible judging.
