My buddy and I (the same friend that was there with me at forest & main a few months back) each got 2 8oz pours each. I didn't want to load up on 4oz pours because I'm sure the tab would have gotten pretty high (and it already was after the two 8oz pours, the two growlers, and splitting the bbq chicken, which was amazing). My only complaint was that almost everything seemed like hops... which I guess is their thing, and I enjoy hops, but it felt like my choices were a little limited. I tried the ones that sounded most interesting to me while there, and got the next two most interesting sounding options as growlers.

That's a pretty sweet spot to have a share!

@devilfluff demolished my porch with an awesome round Se7en box on Friday.

I got home from work Friday and, after a few pleasantries, my wife asked me what I was going to use the marinades for. I'm like, what? I don't know what you are talking about. Then she proceeds to tell me that I had a box by the front door from Southwick Marinades. Ah! Now I know what you are talking about. I casually mentioned that I was surprised she didn't bring it in and she replied that she went to do that but quickly changed her mind when she started to pick it up. I looked at the box and it didn't look all that big, definitely smaller than a 12 bottle styro shipper and I thought she was just being a wimp again. I then picked it up and holy shit, it like the box was filled with concrete or something. I drug the box in the house and started unpacking. The damn thing reminded me of the energizer bunny because it kept going and going and going... I unpacked about 12 beers and then every one I pulled out after that my wife would just say 'Another one?' and then just sigh. All done and there were 22 beers in this relatively small box. Jesse is a freakin magician.

Here is the haul in all it's delicious (mostly) dark glory......

Jesse took my love of stouts serious and loaded me up. The box came from NJ so I would have been a little disappointed if it didn't contain some Carton beers, but Jesse had that covered. When I visited NY I was able to get Boat beer so it was nice that Jesse chose to include the other varieties. I loved seeing the Kane bottle too. This will be my first Kane beer but hopefully not my last. Have heard great things about them. There was also a Spellbound Peach IPA that sounded fantastic so I shared it with a buddy last night. A very nice beer. Jesse also must have known I love Peanut Butter stouts and included Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch from Manayunk (a new brewery tick!). The rest are stouts with the majority being barrel aged! Love! 2010 World Wide Stout, Uncle Jacob's, Pappy barrel Bloodlust, Track 8, Yards love stout...just to name a few. I loved that he included the base Insidious along with 2 bottles of the barrel aged version. I love doing side by sides like this just to see what effects the barrel has on the beer.

Jesse, sorry about the late pronz. I loved the box. Almost everything is new to me and what I have had before I am more than excited to revisit. Thanks so much!!

Hops are definitely their thing, often even their saisons; however certainly not to the exclusion of other things, but there needs to be a little luck involved with when you go if you're looking for non-hoppy offerings.

Its not bad at all! One of the perks of living in a smallish town with a tight-knit beer community! Since bottle shops in NC can have taps and they can now fill growlers now (as of either 9 months or 1 year and 9 months ago, can't remember) a number of shops have taps in the store. Ours has 16, so its not uncommon for people to sit around shooting the shit at the bottle shop drinking (at retail prices nonetheless...). At times it feels MUCH more like a bar than a bottle shop...

    Absolutely!
I posted this in the Mountain forum, everyone was guessing that getting there at 8am would yield a full allotment so I decided to get there a bit earlier. As my GPS said that I was 1/4 mile from Casey, I saw cars parked so I jumped into an open spot to start walking there but as I was getting closer I saw tons of people walking towards me so I was obviously nervous. As I walk up some woman says to myself & the couple in front of me "hurry & head down the hill & around because they're almost out of tickets" so we start fast walking. I walked up ~7:10 & watched Troy hand the last 2 tickets to the couple that was walking in front of me & thought "damn, I rented a hotel room, rented a car & drove 5hrs in rain to not get full allotment??" then he grabbed 12 more tix out of his back pocket, gave me the 1st & said he pulled an extra case from his cellar so there are going to be 172 bottles of the Family Preserves. Excellent owner & his wife worked the cash register at the bar & is incredibly nice & helpful as well. I actually mentioned to someone that they're the Dan & Deb (New Glarus owners) of Colorado

Is that glass from BeerMongers in Portland? Spent a pretty decent amount of time there last summer when I was in Portland visiting my sister-in-law and her husband.

Entirely based on reputation and a few anecdotes, that analogy sounds pretty apt, and is high praise. Great to hear cool stories of awesome owners like that.

He also handed me a Transmigration of Souls and a Todd the Assman. He thinks he got out clean since I forgot we were meeting, but I have a long memory and a lack of respect for those fuckers at FedEx.
