Ommegang is officially starting to answer some of my beer dreams. In case anyone missed it, this came up on the beerpulse label approval list recently:

And then this one came up since then:

    Jealous.

Last year, I was actually contacted by Ommegang while I was still in Brazil, saying that I had won two VIP tickets for BCTC in the lottery they had on facebook or whatever. I briefly but very seriously considered changing my flight to come home a few days early just to go to BCTC, but then was contacted again saying that they were sorry, I was only one of ten runners-up, and they sent an identical to all of the runners-up. That was one very dramatic, air-whooshing-out-of-the-balloon moment. But, in compensation they told me they could send me some glassware, and then sent me a Witte t-shirt that's too big. Ah, well . . . obviously I'm still a fanboy.

thats a crazy story fran, and i saw the tshirt youre talking about for sale @ the event. at the event they released their fifteenth anniversary ale for bottle sales (called Ommegang XV), but after trying i dont think its worth the $20/750mL

personal favorites of the evening: hops n roses (CL), peeterman (allagash), cask served session in the rye (lawsons), and bronze age (stillwater)

personal least-favorites: peekskill saison du chief, cape ann IPA

Nice, I really want to try that Hops n Roses, and I've liked everything Stillwater I've had so far . . . Bronze Age looks great, if I recall.

Hops n Roses was amazing. The Spider Bite Berliner and the Lagunitas Gueze were also standouts.

    GODDAMNIT

Someday, I swear I'm going to have something resembling disposable income, and on a scale greater than that of a high school student. Someday.

Did I see you guys just tapped Brooklyn Export Kellerbier and Blast? I don't know which one of those I want more.

    Probably Blast.

The Export is amazing though. Blast is around fairly regularly, the kellerbier isn't really.

Hard to believe That HOP SPOT in little old Sackets Harbor had Sixpoint on tap 8/3/12. Sheehan seem to keep them supplied with a great tap selection.

I agree on the Ommegang XV. Sadly, Allagash was all dried up by the time I went looking for them, but there were plenty of other tasty things to be consumed. I was pleased I finally got to try Hops n Roses, but it wasn't really for me. (Maybe I don't like rose in my beer? Smelled awesome, however.) I was impressed with Butternuts - their sour was delicious and I went back for seconds. I'd have to go find my program to refresh my memory about others...but I had several really tasty saisons, which were perfect given the weather.

I moved out of Syracuse a couple months ago, how did the Empire Brewfest go down this year? Any less of a disaster than last year?

That's the vibe he has in person too. That beer sounds delicious though.

The Galeville Byrne Dairy has 4 DFH growler taps right now. I think I saw Palo Santo Marron, Urkontinent, Burton Baton and Positive Contact. Pretty awesome selection, but are people willing to fill a growler for $17?
