Other Half Brewing Thread (Sept 2015)

I was at the brewery on Saturday, and to my surprise, Anthony was giving a tour. I listened in for part of it. He's a fantastic tour guide. I hope this becomes a regular thing. Here's something I learned which probably isn't surprising: Other Half will never brew a pumpkin beer!

 

The sheer volume of pumpkin beer available in every bottle shop right now is absurd. Tons of it will be left over at Thanksgiving too. Most of it is gross. Good for Other Half.

 

I only enjoy a handful of pumpkin stuff but it would have been interesting to see how Other Half would approach a pumpkin beer.

 

As much as I like the beer that OH produces, one of the main reasons I keep on going there is Anthony, he does a great job.

 

To my fellow Other Half fans, it's with a bit of sadness that I say goodbye as I pack up to move to Minneapolis, MN next week. I know I have met many of you at the taproom, but didn't often put a face to a BA name.

About a year ago Other Half was the brewery that opened my eyes to the world of craft beer beyond Lagunitas. I still remember my first trip to the taproom and asking if they had an IPA (ha!). Flashing forward, this crazy "hobby" took me to the likes of Hill Farmstead, Trillium, Tree House and many other great New England breweries. However, the spontaneous Other Half Wednesday nights will be missed the most. Thank you to all of the great people that I've met along the way and continued success to Other Half!!

And... With that said, if anyone is looking for a Surly and/or Toppling Goliath trader, send me a message. I will need my Other Half fix.

I passed Sam today as he was leaving a subway car and I was getting in. I was more giddy than if it had been Jay-Z or Bob Saget. #Fanboy

$16 per four pack, $90 per case. 1 case limit on Hop showers. Four 4 pack limit on the Amarillo

Damn! I'd love to get Amarillo cans but I promised my 3 year old niece Id be at her first soccer game Sat morning. Oh well.

Think theres a 4 4 pack limit on Amarillo because they want it to get to more people, or because there is a smaller supply of it? Id think of taking the trip later if I thought thered still be some after the rush. Or maybe itll end up on tap Saturday too?

 

Was just craving this. Glad to see it back on tap.

 

And the Amarillo! Someone needs to let us know how this one is.
