Did they change their bottling dates? I found some a month ago. Couldn't find a date. It's hard to find their IPA fresher than six months.

That would be a nice surprise. I love their IPA and speedway is killer too.

Baffles me how stone can get enjoy by up here with no problems, but every time I go to Wisconsin, all the IPAs are 6 months old.

I wonder if Wirtz just has the contract to distribute it, if Alesmith chooses to begin sending product this way.l, not that they're necessarily going to begin doing so, soon

Thank God this was confirmed; we're starving for good beer options out here!

Kind of surprised that we got it here in the Twin Cities before you guys in Chicago.

Wisconsin has had it for a while too; I don't pretend to understand beer distribution.

Good point. In a thread in the Midwest about the potential of Firestone Walker coming to Minnesota, some made a comment about distributors courting the breweries. I would imagine besides market size, what kind of money a distributor is throwing at a brewery can be a factor as well. I have also heard of brewers ties to a certain state, so I guess there is yet another one.

If it is not fresh then they shouldn't bother sending it here. There are too many other good options. I've had some in Champaign IL. that didn't strike me as overly fresh.

Seems Alesmith has started hitting Chicago area shelves...

Beer Cellar in Glen Ellyn has it in. The usuals (IPA, Speedway, ESB, etc.)

Do they distribute their barrel aged stuff as well or is that only released at the brewery?

I have seen BA Speedway and BA Old Numbskull in Wisconsin in very limited quantities at 40 bucks plus tax a bottle needless to say I passed. I would rather buy another half a case of CW brewers reserve beer.

I just picked up a bottle each of IPA and Speedway from Beer Cellar this afternoon. Will be my first time trying AleSmith.

How old are the IPAs they sent? As others have mentioned, everytime I saw them in Wisconsin they were very old.
