fo is good, but it aint worth putting up with 15 other tasters of mediocre beer to get a baby pour of it

Like I said, BAIT & SWITCH ... so fuck them ... Hell, even if I had a DD, not sure I'd want to suck down 64+ ounces of beer on some random weeknight

I remember seeing on Yelp someone from Provisions responding to a number of reviews about how they overprice their beers (both on draft and in bottles). Some of the reasons he gave as to why the store thinks they're justified in the price are: a lot of people have told them they are happy with the prices, markups are to be expected, it's competitive in regards to the competition and it helps pay the staff.

I'm not sure how realistic some of those reasons are but what they're doing when it comes to the FO is just incredibly messed up. But there will always be people who are willing to pay whatever price Provisions is charging and that's not going to change anytime soon.

Not that busy. You wait in line then sit down and wait for them to bring over a tray of 16 beers to put on your flight board. First come, first serve.

Maybe most of the people who came were turned off by what they had to do in order to get some Fundamental Observation?

Anyone who expected anything less has either never been to Haven/Provisions before or loves disappointment/getting played.

I would have expected $10 for a 3 oz. pour, something of that sort.

Pours were really inconsistent and because they were doing a lot of pouring and building flights before delivering, beers got warm fast (the ac in here really doesn't pump like at all). They fucked up and brought me 15 tasters instead of the 16 so the beers on the flight list were all out of order and I couldn't tell what I was drinking unless it had a strong nose from obvious adjuncts. I just gave up, finished my FO and left. It would take A LOT to Motivate me to come back and support these guys.

Ha ha ha, FO, the cluster fuck that keeps on clustering long after the bottle release mess and all. Such a mess. Oh, how everything that could go wrong.... Yeah. I really can't wait for the Ken Burns documentary about this release and all it touched.

I think one of their chief problems are these tent pole events that keep bringing people back - e.g. Migration Week (Rare in 2014, Vanilla in 2015, The Cantillon Day, etc). I would imagine they would get mentioned a whole lot more as a beer spot if they kept a better relationship with the guys who show for those days. But I could be wrong. It could just be us snarky folk on here complaining and a whole lot of happy people feeding them money...

And here I was, gratuituosly insulting Havens/Provisions earlier today in the LA/OC Release thread. I went to Haven four years ago, thought the food and beer was ridiculous - both in quality and price - and never went back.

16 tasters? Stupidest fucking thing I've heard in my craft beer journey yet. Fucking dumb. Idiocracy of beer. I think I'll pop open an FO right now and serve it to myself for $20 per ounce. I just made $338 for myself. GOD DAMMM I IZ BRELLANT!

Weird, but I actually thought about that same exact thing myself. Decided to open a Mokah instead though.

Doesn't surprise me at all, Provisions is shit. I went there once for their Tart & Funky Sour Fest and never went back.
