Drinking craft beer just to be "cool"?

Don't worry, I have seen plenty of losers and d-bags drinking craft beer.

Only in America do we think we invented craft beer. The cool part is to know your history.

We need to understand the love and science of great beer, that part is cool. Some folks are "cool" or hip or interesting.

I am like most older folks we pre date this American definition of craft. to us its just beer from the old country "newly" discovered. yes there are lots of experiments going on ATM, and after another 50 years it will be back to normal. and no 1 will think its cool anymore.

at least until the next generation finds something else cool.

oh and I still drink Blue moon, (with no fruit) in cafes and since its not the newest IPA, no 1 thinks I am cool.

 

I drink Miller Lite when I feel like it, so what, and I'm quite sure I one else cares what I drink. I go to a nice Ale House here locally, and they have 35 taps, there's always someone drinking Corona, Bud alight etc. drink what you like, I've had Miller Lite there too when nothing on tap excited me.

 

I drink craft because I prefer it, which is a good thing. Otherwise, I'm spending a shitload of money to be cool in front of this computer.

 

Lol seriously, I think everyone can attest to what goes on at their places of employment...sheesh, I prefer to stay on the road & outta the hen house as often as possible, let those fools peck each other's eyes out.

I don't drink to be 'cool' or not - lord knows I haven't been 'cool' a day in my life.
I drink what I like - and I don't like AALs. I've occasioinally had one just cause here and there - after a mountain bike ride the guy pulling a case of MGD out of his trunk, going to someone's house unexpectedly on a hot day and all he has is Heineken... If it's Bid Light, Coors light or Miller Lite, I'll just stick with water, though. I do have some standards.

 

When I go to bars, I generally order the craft beer with the coolest looking bottle, drain pour, then refill it all night with bud light. It gets all the ladies.

 

I drink craft and macros. And I don't give a damn about what anyone thinks.

 

I don't drink macros simply because I don't like them. I'd rather just drink water. If other people like them, it doesn't bother me a bit. I drink craft beer (i hate even calling it that) because I find it to be absolutely delicious. If I'm going somewhere where there will only be bud light, I'll bring a few brews of my own but I don't make a big deal of it. It's just a beverage ffs. People care to much about what other people do and what other people think about what they do. F that noise.

My four-year old and three-year old think I'm cool no matter what I'm drinking. Nothing I do will change what my wife thinks. Beyond that, I don't care.

We are mostly a bourgeois society, and to the extent that taste in alcoholic beverages is a status determinant, it is mostly about taste in wine, and to a lesser degree, in spirits. It is mostly foreign to beer, the unfussy drink of the working class. Fuss worthy beers are becoming more common, but unlike wine, familiarity with them us not yet a marker of an upper class upbringing. Though in some locale that may be changing. This is controversial as it impacts status, impacts important economic interests, and, as with wine, impacts those who are fussing for reasons totally unrelated to status.

 

I'd drink macros if that is my only option, but just the dark lagers. Any light stuff is just awful.

 

If you care if you are cool, you are by definition not cool. Man, I feel like I'm back in high school, which is good, I was one of the cool kids.

Ditto! Mine ended in 1970! Cool is being able to be who you are, and not change for someone else. Drink happily OP.

 

I'll drink whatever I want. If someone wants to judge me, idc. If you tend to judge me, I see you as being unhappy with yourself.
