Gives me heartburn, I can dump cinnamon or Allspice into any average beer and duplicate most.

I've had Anderson Valley Fall Hornin and Samuel Adams Fat Jack but I'm looking to explore other pumpkin beers this year.

Always enjoy the Dogfish Head Punkin. I'll probably pick up a Warlock or two.

I love the Warlock (wish it had a bit thicker body though). One beer that doesn't get much love is Sam Adam's Fat Jack, which is surprisingly delicious. Knock-your-teeth-out sweetness and just plain bold.

Our biggest manufacturer of craft beer in AZ, 4 peaks, makes a damn good pumpkin porter too.

warlock because it has that amazing pumking aroma and doesn't taste/feel like water like pumking has for a few years now

Just had Smuttynose pumpkin ale... Very delicious! More pumpkin less spices like I like it. Pumking is still my favorite but this is a close second!

Haven't seen many, if any, mentions of Noda Gordgeous. I imagine that is due to it not widelly distributed. Absolutely excellent, IMHO.

Schafly also is top notch. Prefer Warlock (not a true pumpkin, but great) over Pumking, and Dogfish's Punkin is solid. Sam's offering is pretty good as well. Need to try Weyerbacher's this year.

Tried some Pumpkin beers last year and could not find one that I thought was special. Into trying the suggestions I see here.
Had Dogfish Head Pumpkin Ale today. Was happy with it!! Decent!

Just had Pump[KY]n (exactly 1 year out), and it was still drinking quite hot. If I could go back in time six hours, I'd probably leave it in the cellar for another year.

I've been drinking the Samuel Adams Oktoberfest for a few years and decided to get the variety pack with the Harvest Pumpkin Ale. It's a pretty good beer. I think it has a better, smoother taste than Oktoberfest. The only downside is, I've yet to see it in my area (South Florida) that sells just the Harvest Ale. If you're in an area where there's a publix they're are starting to do the craft your own 6 pack deals so I'm sure that will be one of the bottles on the shelf.

I'm a fan of pumpkin beers during the season, and I think it's still too early really for pumpkin beers (despite the fact I've already had a dozen different ones so far this year:rolling_eyes:) but today I had 2 of the absolute best pumpkin beers I've ever had at Wicked Weed in Asheville NC. The first was a standard pumpkin ale called Pumpkanne, but each of the typical ingredients was very distinctive and assertive, yet not overpowering. It was hopped perfectly to complement the other ingredients as well. The other beer was Pompoen, a sour pumpkin ale. This was an amazing sour, much less a great pumpkin beer. Perfectly puckering with only hints of pumpkin and spice.

They all suck IMO, I can pour allspice or cinnamon into any lager and duplicate the beer, and the heartburn to follow. There's no pumpkin. It's all spice.
