If you fear being mocked or ridiculed by onlookers, family member, friends (etc) for drinking what you want to drink, when you want to drink it, then you are really in a bind.

But on the other hand, don't over-think it. Instead, be your own judge of what is good beer -by your own reckoning- and in so doing you will eventually remove the stigma which you perceive as being relevant to a given drinking scenario or situation. It really is as simple as that -- don't wait for others to tell you what is cool and what isn't.

I was the biggest loser life had ever seen....then I started to drink craft beer and everyone started to think I was so cool (I don't really like the taste, but it makes me look cool so I'll keep drinking it. Maybe I'll pour out my KBS and pour Bud Light in the bottles so I can enjoy my beer and look cool at the same time!)

Music is over-rated. Static is the wave of the future.

Hahaha, swill. Word of the day "swill". The score was Swill Swallowers 1 Snoby Sniffers -1.

This is absolutely false! Not trying to be argumentative, but many people do actually prefer the taste. I am a craft fan obviously, but this notion that people who drink mass produced light beer are uninformed, or just cheap alcoholics, is completely absurd. I know many a wealthy man who prefer Miller Lite.....Different strokes...

Nowadays, it seems if I really wanted to be trendy and looking to fit in with all hip, pretty young things (most of whom are at least 15 years younger than me), I wouldn't be into beer at all. I'd be a wine snob. That's what all the cool kids seem to be drinking now.

Unfortunately, I really don't like wine. I've always been a beer drinker. So, there is that.

Never, I have not worried about being "cool" in years. If anything, I'v been ridicule for drinking "fancy" beer.

I'll still buy a 30 rack of Bud Light every now and then. 1/2 the case is to act as bodyguard so my friends and house guests don't touch the good stuff. The other half is to prevent ME from touching my own stock.

In 1968 us Schlitz drinkers looked down on the Bud crowd. 18 was the legal age, but we were still a year shy. Some things just will never change. I loved my Dad's Lowenbraus and he knew that I was drinking them. I have never looked back.

I’ve noticed that “cool guy” attitude more with the macro lovers then the Craft brew drinkers. I’ve heard several times, old friends and family say all they drink is Corona, because they are mexican. I guess drinking craft makes me a plain ole American, and that’s fine by me!!!!!!

Fellow mexican, have you tried the Bohemia Clara lately? Is´t very good, hoppy and aromatic. Try it, you might change your mind on pale lagers. Cheers!

It's all an odd cycle. I'm seeing mid 20er's skip out on some craft (they've only been vested 3-6 years) because craft is now almost too mainstream/too cool, and in a ironic twist, go super cheap. It's all to be unique or different for some people.

Or they look for that super rare or limited beer. I've been drinking that odd stuff for years. Now it's not so odd. I won't be like others and try to find something different. It's all about why you get into things/hobbies

Broken in on the bigger beers at a tender age of between 15 and 16.....it was not cool back then in the late 80's, but it DID keep people from snagging what I brought to a party.

Just think of all those who enjoy PBR from the can drinking craft just to be cool and hating it. Krice, if they ever stopped the entire craft beer industry would vanish like a fart in the wind.

I sincerely never judge people by the beer they drink, just as I hope they don't judge me for eating bottled Goya olives from the supermarket.
