It's a fun place, good quality food at cheap prices. Nothing mindblowing but solid pub food. Beers are all good, have never been blown away by one but never had a bad one. Their experimental pilot brew program is really cool and they do some super unique beers. I think they release one every Monday and its on until its gone. Check their Facebook for info. They also always have two cask lines at all times.

All in all its a fun place but again, nothing life changing, just solid beers and good food. I'm not sure what they have on now, they also do flights so you can try a bunch of different beers. They also only sell house brewed beers so just try as much as you can, if you especially like one, you can take home a growler.

Their beers are also really cheap, I think most are like $5 for 16oz and $4 for 12oz.

I think this place is a victim of all the amazing beers that are available in the state - their beers aren't bad but next to the likes of the heavy hitters the reviews don't hold up too well. Put this place in the middle of pretty much any other state and the numbers go up.

And as mentioned above the prices are great.

Because zero gravity/ flatbread is across the street, farmhouse is around the corner+ many others within walking distance that serve the likes of HF, alchemist cans, and lawsons

There is just too much great beer in the area so it drags the ratings down. Its just ratings. Go and tell is what you think. I had a great time and good beer.

This. Just because its not one of the well known vt beers does not mean it sucks.

I make it a point to visit on every trip, homage to Greg Noonan, for which we owe a strong nod.
The offerings are more than solid, plus cask ales, are always a treat.
    Enjoy the trip.
    Cheers

When I moved to the greater Burlington area, VP&B and Three Needs was about all that was here. At the time Greg was still alive and the beer was soilid, food has always been food service/frozen pub fare. Nothing to write home about.

Unfortunately with so many better options, VP&B has become a casualty for me.

And let's not forget the burg of Waterbury to the southeast that has stolen some of Bton's beer visitors.

Stopped in here while visiting last month. Wife and I shared the Ploughmans Lunch (cheese, bread, apple chutney) as an appetizer here, had the Vermont IPA which was so/so. Enjoyed the food and beer more at the Skinny Pancake, had a Fiddlehead IPA and Lost Nation Gose on tap there.

I stop in whenever I am in Burlington and have always enjoyed it. Food is good pub food, and I enjoy getting samplers of whatever is on tap. I especially like their sour stuff.

I just can't see myself ever going there again with American Flatbreads a block away. The one or two times that I've been, I found the beer to be competent, but uninspired. They also gave me the stinkeye when I tried to order two drinks at once, which, like, how long have you been running a bar? Does no one ever buy themselves and their girlfriend a drink at the same time?

So yeah, it's not bad, but there are so many better options in Burlington.

I think the place has become somewhat obsolete to real beer nerds, because the offerings rarely change up. However, they continue to be a memorable brewpub gateway experience for thousands of regular tourists and loyal locals who really dig the atmosphere and aren't spending all their time on a hype-beer hunt, or giving their Untapped account a shot in the arm.

When I lived in Burlington they were really tough, being a college town with lots of underage students around they are a little overly sensitive to it, but a lot of the bars up there are as well. I hear you on getting the stink eye, but since they aren't a traditional bar in town underage college students can blend in a little easier...

If the person didn't check and was caught then they would feel like a criminal, possibly lose their job, and change their life. Stop being so god damn selfish. And if you have a problem with how we uphold our laws then please feel free to stay home and bend your own.

Remind me not to visit your bar, either.

Don't blame the bar for following the rules and protecting their liquor license.

The Pub is the grandfather to the Burlington beer scene. It's old, a little smelly, a bit outdated. It's also one of my favorite spots to hang because the bartenders are friendly, the beer is cheap and the locals are fun to be around.

Sure, the beer isn't great like other VT standouts. It's gotten better though, they're working on it. I'm a big fan of the fruit beers and sours, and the Bombay Grab IPA on cask is damn delicious. Also, did you know they do a collaboration with Lawson's called the Spruce Tip IPA? It's fucking amazing.

Actually stopped in there when I was in Burlington this past week. They were out of two or three offerings when we got there around 1 p.m., which I thought was strange, and I believe they only had five beers on tap. I was in the mood for something lighter, so I had the Grand Slam Baseball Beer, as did a couple others I was with.

It tasted awful; not sure if I got a bad pour, dirty glass, etc., but another in our group didn't even finish his. Very watery, no aroma, etc. Some of the reviews on its page here called it "beer-flavored water;" I'd agree.

I can't comment on the rest, because we left after a single round with the beers we all had being bad to fair. We moved onto Zero Gravity and I loved both the beers I had there (VT Haze, their new session IPA, and Conehead, an old favorite). I'd suggest going to Zero Gravity and trying their beers instead -- but to each their own.

Even in olden times (first craft beer fad) before any in state competition existed it disappointed. Wondering if the generally good beer scene in Burlington plus location and patio are keeping it alive.

I wasn't very impressed with their beer. Fun spot to visit though. I did like zero gravity a lot better.
