I didn't find it terrible, but after opening my first bottle I immediately regretted not buying the sue sitting right next to it for the same price.

I didn't love it, but I'm glad I tried it. I'd never tried a single hope, Columbus hop IPA before. I likely won't again, but that's what this beer journey is all about. Not sure I'd go Miller Lite over 1492, I think I'd just go with a beer at all.

For those who live/drive through the distant borough of St. Michael, they still have four Start of the North variants on the shelves (no Starkeller).

Do you happen to remember if they had either of the first two (Star of the North and Framboise du Nord)?

If he is talking about the store I think he is, no on Star of the North. I haven't seen any Star of the North out this way in a long time.

Any good leads on BB Buffalo Sweat around Minneapolis? Going shopping tonight. Would also like to snag some CW Scotch. Haven't checked a ton yet but it was gone at France 44, South Lyndale, and Zipps when I was out on Wednesday last week.

For what it's worth, Star of the North has not held up well at all. I had one recently (that was stored properly) and it tasted like... well, almost nothing. It lost most of its flavor altogether and pretty much all tartness.

I was also curious about an all columbus hopped IPA. It seems to compliment multiple hopped IPAs just fine as I enjoy a beer like Green Flash West Coast IPA.

No Star of the North, but pretty sure they had the Framboise. Might want to call first though!

For those of you heartbroken that Star of the North is gone, a little birdy (and trusted source) told me that it will be coming back in the form of a regular seasonal from the Noble Star series.

South Lyndale was doing singles of 1492, which was great because I didn't want to buy a quad of it. I enjoyed it for what it was. I found it interesingd and I was certainly glad to try it, but also glad I didn't buy 4 of 'em.

On another note, I'm very happy to see Crooked Stave flooding our market with so many quality beers. We need moar sourzzz in MN!

That is good news. I had heard they planned on doing regular and/or seasonals. Good to see it should be happening soon.

it could very well be a lower price point. mgm calhoun is the only shop ive seen it at so far, not uncommon for them to gouge.

It probably is at most stores. MGM Calhoun is known to be a bit higher than most stores.
