Alternative Craft Beer Bars in Rhode Island

    Anyone who lives in R.I. will mention all of the Doherty's locations: East Ave., Ale House, Shannon View ... but I'm looking for suggestions for alternative locations for craft beer.

    So, let the suggestions roll!

    GCB for sure. Rogue Island if you're looking for good food. The Avery if you want awesome cocktails. I'll second Julians too. The Malted Barley will also have a providence location open relatively soon.

    How 'bout What Cheer in Providence. Heard good things about Chomp Kitchen in Warren. And Broadway in Newport: Norey's, Pour Judgment, and Malt all very close by.

    I stopped by the Malted Barley on my way to Foxwoods. Great beer selection and killer pretzels.

    I think membership is $30 a year.

    What Cheer is definitely a good choice as well. Love the place.

    5 dollars per day/night. Drinks are so cheap that you'll make your 5 bucks back after a couple of them. Membership cost to the bar itself just went up to 35/year.

    Or you could pay 50k in tuition to Brown I suppose. Might take a few more drinks to get your return on investment there.

    Throw Tavern on Broadway on the newport list along with Wharf Pub and buskers.

    Ogies is another cool spot in providence. They have a trailer park theme, very cool and unique. Wild Colonial has a great draft list.
