If we got there by 4 or so would we still be able to get cans and/or growlers?

cans for sure, growlers depends what is left from the previous week, but you will 90% of the time be fine unless something is very low. given what the site says my guess is you'd be fine for everything available now, plus whatever else goes on, you're just looking at a longer wait for fills

Growler limits are usually dropped down to 4pp on thursday. Thursdays are normally their busiest days at open, and by 4 there will most likely be 50+ already in line, they have been known to open the doors a little early on thursdays, especially with a big crowd but that always depends on what they are pouring or what/how many cans are available. They move through the growler line very fast though. But if there is a big crowd expect to spend around 1.5-2 hours there from the time you arrive to the time you are on the road. One of the most common questions first timers have is how the can/growler line works. You might already know this but ill try to map it out for you anyway. You will have to fill out a card for your growlers, pay attention to the total limits per person (they will announce this before open if they drop it), and the individual limits on each beer, you can find that info on their website. A staff member will come outside prior to open and hand out cards. They only hand out a certain amount of cards before open, the cards are numbered to a certain point, and before they open they will start collecting cards and empty growlers for the first 30ish people in line. If they do not collect your card before open, you need to bring your card up to the far corner of the bar and they will tell you your number. The growler line pretty much becomes the can line, there are not two seperate lines. A common mistake I have seen people make is waiting to hand in their card until after they get cans. So when you are in line and pass the bar make sure to hand your card in so you don't lose your spot. You kind of need to hop out of line to hand in your card, but everyone pays attention to where they are at in line so i don't think it is ever an issue. They call your number/name twice, once to drop off your empty growlers and again when your growlers are filled. Also they only fill their own growlers (MA. Law) good luck and enjoy!

This is awesome info, thanks a ton!

If you don't have any empty growler do they just take your card and charge for the glass as well?

On the card you check off the size of the growler you want filled for each beer you want (along with quantity) and you also check off if you have one or not (and in your case provide the quantity you need), which would prompt them to provide/sell one to you.

So if I am there at opening on Thursday there's a pretty high chance some Julius and Haze are still left?

You will most definitely get those two if you are there at opening tomorrow. Even a little after.

Do they ever open earlier than 5 on a Friday. Or do they just do earlier hours on a day that they're not regularly open?

Given the limits, I'd say all these cans will be available till Saturday. There's enough Haze for 1,080 people and enough Julius for 1,350!
