Best Non-British Beer Ever?

    Another playful take on one of the hot threads of the moment:

    You're having a nice meal with your family when you hear a wallop at your front door. I come crashing into your dining room armed with a 12 gauge shotgun demanding to know what your number one absolute bestest ever beer is from Germany, Belgium, The Czech Republic, and The US, plus any extra countries you may wish to add. As you sit there dithering I put the gun to your forehead and your partner screams at you to JUST ANSWER THE EFFING QUESTION!

    Well, my answers would be fairly simple:

    Germany – Weihenstephanen Hefeweizen
    Belgium – Duvel
    Czech Republic – Budvar
    USA – Ballast Point Sculpin
    Japan – Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout

    Of course this is mostly based on easily available imports so not really fair on the countries, but then these polls never are!

    Belgium (wow, 4 of my 5 top beers are Belgian) - Struise Black Albert
    Netherlands - Rooie Dop Double Oatmeal Stout
    USA - Odell Isolation Ale
    Denmark - Mikkeller Black Hole (Cognac Barrel Aged)

    Man, this is making me think of so many great beers I'd forgotten about. Good call Hoppsbabo.

    It's in my all-time top 10 for sure. I'm not 100% what that list consists of any more, but it's definitely in there!

    Belgium – Either my homebrewed Saison or my homebrewed Cranberry Belgian Pale Ale
    Czech Republic – Pilsner Urquell
