Mods? I'm surprised this isn't a thing. A way for people to get rid of old equipment when they upgrade, or get out of brewing. Has it ever been attempted here?

Craigslist and Facebook definitely have a place for it otherwise.

I live a good distance from the closest craigslist city. And a sub forum would open a dialogue for shipping. I have not seen a FB group for brewing equipment. Even my local brew club doesn't utilize the FB page. I offer washed yeast all the time and no one speaks up.

    say it ain't so!

This is a good idea. Could also be a good way to do trades on home brews as well..

I like the idea as well. I find I don't trust FB groups as much as the folks on BA.

Give me some more information on what y'all are looking for, how you think it would work, what kind of rules, what would be legit and what would be out of bounds, etc, etc. If I have a more robust idea to pitch to the bros I can take it to them.

There's a For Sale forum on homebrewtalk that could be used as an example.

You could also mirror as reference the structure already in place for beer trading.

My concern would be this forum is not active enough to support such a sub, I could be wrong though

@jbakajust1 , I was thinking anything equipment, and possibly ingredients as well. Sell an old 8 gallon kettle that isn't used anymore. Stir plate, carboys, flask, faucets, tower (maybe someone had a single tower and upgrades to a dual tower), kegs. I think ingredients should be allowed as well. Maybe they bought something for a batch, but must go out of town and they need to get rid of it. Or maybe someone grows hops and will sell some.

Someone mentioned beer, I don't think beer should be listed as it already has a subforum. Perhaps beer can be used as payment / to barter. But, buyer / seller beware BA is not liable for sales gone wrong, or the beer you were given sucking.

    It ain't so bro.

I was looking at a car stereo forum I visit sometimes and it occurred to me that breweries tend to accumulate things much like audiophiles. Equipment they thought they would use, but do not. Or once did, but upgraded. Every once in a while they need to clean out their place and have a garage sale.

Wouldn't be able to sell beer, here.

Idea isn't bad- but I see it getting a bit out of hand, possibly with people trying to run a business selling used/new items on here, and vendors trying to pimp their wares.

I would probably offer stir plates as I have lots of spare parts left over from my build, and nothing to use them on. But I don't see the harm in that.
