Also maybe I just don't pay enough attention, but is it common to have Sip of Sunshine in NYC? Was at Double Windsor on Friday night and they had it

It's on tap at Blind Tiger tonight as well. I don't think anyone is breaking any rules - especially since it's a keg.

I don't think rule breaking either. I've had Double Sunshine in NYC as well, but it's just been a long time

 

Not sure, but considering the recent influx of kegs, I'm guessing they are thinking about it. VT and then CT. Perhaps NYC is the next logical step in their (plans for?) expansion. All conjecture obviously.

 

I was actually going to post this in a separate thread. I was randomly checking something in Albany (not even sure why), and Beer Belly up there had SoS and Super Session #2 kegs. So I decided to check here on beermenus - didn't see SoS anywhere, but I noticed on beermenus that Covenhoven has Super Session #2. Might stop by Blind Tiger tonight for a SoS on the way home.

EDIT: Saw this on Lawson's website after Googling: http://www.lawsonsfinest.com/our-beer/september-beer-news/ Just says upstate, but it appears like some of it's making it to the city. This makes it sound like it won't be a regular thing, but we can hope right? I don't know why they'd go through the trouble of getting licensed to distro here only for a month...

A check-in on Untappd says 20 kegs of SoS hit NYC. This is great news, hopefully it becomes a regular thing.

 

I was talking to a guy last night at Bondurants who said these kegs are more likely than not a result of Union over ordering for a Phish show and having extra kegs of session and sip afterwards. Not sure if true but maybe you guys do. Sounds like a plausible explanation for our luck on this one.

 

Sounds like I need to get more into phish. Who's providing beer at their next gig? TG? Trillium?

 

Yes that was me on Untappd. I was chatting with a bartender at Blind Tiger and she divulged that info.

 

I know this thread is starting to almost become unnecessary as all these kegs flood the city and beermenus seems to be catching most of them, but just a heads up Abner was tapped last night at Nostrand Ave Pub in BK. Not many people were drinking it while I was there so I'd expect plenty leftover tonight

 

Been getting texts that some double citra will hit NYC this weekend, just waiting confirmation from bartenders on when it's gonna be tapped.

 

i know double citra is hitting BBDs on long island, they are tapping it torrow night

 

Proletariat just tweeted that HF Susan, Double Citra, and Song of Joy, plus Lawson's Super Session, are on deck.

 

Didn't even realize I left the bar out, Coopers Chelsea mgr texted me that they are getting double citra tmrw, not sure what time it will tap, will respond here when I know..
