    Ballast Point:

I have reviewed 19 Ballast Point beers and the average rating I gave them was 4.00. That makes them one of the best and most consistent breweries I have had a large number of beers from.

And GFSculpin is my highest-rated BP beer, BTW.

I've enjoyed some of the Fade to Blacks and really liked Smokejumper, but I do agree that most Left Hand doesn't have me running to the store for more.

Yeah, I was going to metion DRIPA, and the Creme Brulee Java Stout when in season. Those two carry a lot of lesser stuff along with them.

While most of the Left Hand beers that I've had I would put in the "ok" category, the fact that they brew one of the most beloved stouts, and can actually make a nice lager, puts them more in the "underrated for their versatility" category for me instead of "one-hit-wonder."

How can you even make this statement? You haven't even tried Victory At Sea.:astonished:

I don't know why Victory at Sea has such good ratings and most think it is so great. I love coffee beers but think that one is one of (if not the) worst I've ever had. Tastes like straight burnt coffee with no vanilla or anything else.

Because it is that great. Perhaps you're not a fan of coffee Imperial Stouts/Porters.

Imperial Stouts with coffee are my favorite style (Peche Mortel being my top) but for some reason VaS just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'll have to age one for a year or so and give it another shot.

If a brewer only makes one beer you enjoy than only drink that beer, I would have to disagree with you on ballast points only good beer being sculpin though.

Southern Tier. I really enjoyed Warlock, but most of the stouts I've had are too sweet, and I've never really been blown away by any of their other brews.

If ballast point makes average beer I wish more breweries made average beers.

Besides a killer core line up they make some awesome brewery only releases. Just had Vicory at sea blended with black marlin with added cherries and aged in bourbon barrels...amazing, no wait average.

BP is an exceptional brewery, hardly a one hit wonder.
