As good as the adjunct BA MP editions are, the standard bourbon barrel variants have more than held their own, and the batch one rye barrel variant's only flaw was its carbonation, the flavor was and still is delicious. If it falls above your price threshold, that's a totally objective and understandable reason for passing, but sleeping on it because of the lack of adjuncts is a mistake, they've done a fantastic job of capturing barrel character and melding it with the base beer. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

@ModernTimesJacob - any particular reason you're not revealing the rye producer this time around, when you were able to advertise the 10 & 12 year as Four Roses and Elijah Craig? It's easy enough to figure out, especially if you're a fan of rye and order from K&L, just wondering if the producer requested their name not be used.

Yeah, the Monsters' Park Aged in Tennessee Whiskey Barrels was flat as can be but the flavor of that beer was great. I might have to give the Rye a try. For the price I just wish they did these releases in 750 ml bottles. If they could keep the price around $30 and be in a 750 ml it doesn't seem as bad even though it's just 3+ more ounces you are getting.

 

They have been putting out some great stuff lately so really don't mind the tag on it.

 

Wondering if anyone has seen the Lost Horizons DIPA on shelves yet?

 

We don't include the names on the labels because we'd have to get their permission (which is something we'd like to at least try to get for future releases, once we have someone to tackle those kinds of things), but yeah, I basically just forgot that we named them in the email for the 2nd Anni releases. I literally just got back from vacation, and the BPT event/email newsletter was set up by someone else so I didn't have time for a compare and contrast. But @Xul got it right. Fantastic rye, fantastic barrels, fantastic beer.

Haven't released it yet. Just finished dry hopping it now, should be bottled next week.

Got mine, plus two devil's teeth. Seems like that's selling much slower.

seems like when a new beer (or treatment I should say) comes out and there isnt hype around it, it goes slower.

im usually not a big fan of tequila barrels or old ales, but with all the ridiculous and amazing stuff MT puts out, i didnt want to be kicking myself later for missing it so I grabbed 1 bottle to try.

 

Just let my rye ones go. Not worth it with Black Tuesday and such coming up haha.

 

Damn, forgot about this. I hate mezcal, so I am gonna pass on the Devils teeth.

 

By the time I remembered and got on the site, MP was gone. Got the Mezcal just because.
