Fresh Hop Project 2015

I've no idea which one it was, but had a FH beer from Breakside at Lardo the other night and it was incredible.

 

Had a growler of Mazama's fresh hop, a glass of Alameda's, and a pint of Breakside's Simcoe on Saturday. I wish I wish I wish, that they did growlers of Breaksides, but I was happy with Mazama. I regret my lazyness and lack of reading comprehension.

 

Tried Breakside's Fresh Hop Simcoe at Brews For New Avenues on Saturday and was extremely impressed with it. Not super grassy like some fh beers get, but the Simcoe was still super expressive in a unique almost sweet way.

 

I do believe the liquid nitrogen shattering process cuts out the vegetal effect & lets the hop really shine w/ pure results! I'm pretty sure it's the best beer I can remember drinking!

 

consider me on the breakside fresh simcoe hype train. opened my growler last night and nearly polished it off myself. it's insanely crushable and delicious.

 

Off to taste a few new beers & try to snag some more Simcoe magic, this evening @ Milwaukie.

 

Hellbent has an Amarillo fresh hop pale on right now. Starts off really good, but all that dank freshness started to fade about halfway through my pint.

Hales has a Simcoe ISA that should be out in a week or two. Fremont is brewing an Equinox/Mosaic version of Cowiche today.

Just opened my GG crowler (got last Friday) of Hoppy Froppy FH Pale from Santiam in Salem. Nice honey notes in an English style w/ nice hop profile!

 

HUB's Estate IPA's on @ Powell! Gonna have to run down the street for some of that!

 

I did, & for $11 dollars/growler fill of elevated nuance to an already great stock IPA...so glad!

 

Noticed Hawthorne Hophouse has it on, too. Along w/ Two Beers, that I like, but more dry-hop dominant.

 

Machine House did a Simcoe session beer (cask, as always) and Big Time has a Chinook pale. Both on tap at Burgundian right now. Gonna try to stop by after work.

 

Can't wait to try the Machine House FH. Really liked the Citra one they did last year.

 

Holy Mountain's Amarillo pale is on today. Pre-filled mini-growlers, too.

Machine House's simcoe session beer was interesting. Don't think I've ever had a fresh hop real ale before.

 

Tried ground breaker fresh wild hop ipa and stickmen fresh-a-rillo today. Both solid freshies.

 

@ Imperial muggin' a Base Camp FH ESB, in the sun. An interesting, tart example w/ nice malt balance. Have a feeling I'm taking a capped pint of the Stickmen Amarillo...love that hop.
