I gotta vote for misprint - Rare Beerfest and GTOMW all have been VR. Another mark in the misprint category is they would have to bring bottles of 2010 which I don't see them doing (at least not of 2010 Vanilla) - I'm sure when they published the program - someone pulled the '10 stats and not the VR ones... BUT crazier things have happened...

That's what I was thinking too. I've always heard/seen 2010 vanilla referred to as vanilla stout and 2014 vanilla referred to as vanilla rye but when I saw the program I figured it had to be a mistake as there's no way they're bringing cases of OG nilla to this thing.

Definitely going to be VR, this is not that crazy of a beer fest they'll bring VS. BUT if they do I'll be, B A N A N A S.

Well the program does say "bottle" opposed to draft...

One more minor detail I saw in the program, the ABV of the VS they're bringing is 13% (VS) not 13.6% (VR). But again, who knows.

I would think Goose Island knows.

I pinged them twice on Twitter with no response so far. Guess we'll know in about 22 hours.

Goose Island confirmed via Twitter it's VR - mystery solved!

Bummer dude. Still thrilled there's Nilla BC, however.

Well at least I don't have to stand in line in the rain anymore and can go home...

    Any surprises for people?

I thought the Herkimer Port Barrel Saison was really good, very surprised. Also Hinterland had a stout with chiles and coconut that was really nice also.

Great fest as always. Was nice to get another taste of Surly Three, Pompeii was great from TG. Also the new Noble Star (Apparent Horizon) from Schell's, Central Waters Black Gold, Double Shot Double Black from Bent Paddle rounded it out for me. Lots of other fun stuff too. Entrance was a breeze too for the second year in a row (they really have this figured out now!).

Perfect weather and another great ABR with lots of great beer. I really liked Surly Three, not so much Syx and Nein was ok. Great job by Surly keeping their specialty beer line moving fast! I had BA Darkness and Black Gold back to back and like BA Darkness much more.

I thought the Double Shot Double Black was the best beer there. It was so tasty

My top 3 beers were Surly Three, Double Shot (as always), and was really surprised with Fulton's BA Libertine Old Fashioned. But man that last one was by Fulton! Herkimer's Port Saison was also incredible.

The biggest let down for me was Black Gold. It had a smelly sock taste to me?

I loved Black Gold. My smelly sock taste detector's must be broken. With all that time in barrels I was expecting a hot bourbon bomb but it was a fudgy thick stout in the Assassin mold. Loved it. Between 5-6 pours of Black Gold and 5-6 pours of BA Silhouette though I think I might be still a little drunk.

    Top 5 for me were:

    1) Pappy BA 1100 Wheat Wine
    2) Black Gold
    3) Tennessee Dessert
    4) Surly 3
    5) Apparent Horizon
