I'd choose Big Black Voodoo Daddy. SMS is pretty solid.

I dont think this list accounts for beers made in each state that get released infrequently or become "retired" prematurely on this site.

For example, I think every iteration of Voodoo Black Magick is better than Sunday morning stout and if im not mistaken, the ratings show it as a superior ranked brew as well. Heck most of voodoo's stouts - voodoo daddy, voodoo daddy one-offs and barrel aged versions and even their milk stout I think is superior to Weyerbacher's offerings. Though... Weyerbacher has a much larger distribution footprint and this beer in question is/was significantly easier to attain than nearly any Voodoo product so I can understand why it would appear on this list.

Alaska should be Anchorage Time Waits for No One.. Or perhaps that's a bit too esoteric.

Never had Good Morning, so can't comment as to MA. Reviews suggest they are right, but I really prefer non coffee stouts.

Missouri...never had Abraxas, but man MILF is astonishing.

I will give the list makers credit for sticking to their guns. While Good Morning just may be the best from MA, who's gonna argue? It only has 141 reviews. I've never had it, but for something with a wider distro, I'd think Clown Shoes has something to offer, no?

There are a ton of great stouts in Colorado I don't think I could consider ten fidy the best.

Best stout in NH is Stoneface RIS and it's not even close.

Unfortunately it doesn't appear to have enough ratings/reviews so it wouldn't be considered. I enjoy the Smuttynose RIS but it's not in the same league.

Glad to see Blackout Stout on there! Maybe the best beer I've had yet. I need to get my hands on some barrel-aged. I live 40 minutes from the brewery so I need to try to get some this year.

I think Siberian Night, DA and Blackout all belong in contention. I personally prefer Sib. Night.

only have had 5, and have a CW17 sitting in the basement.

Would be very happy to have a chance at the rest.

When in doubt, drink a stout.

I wouldn't complain about Siberian Night being listed for Ohio, either. I prefer the barrel-aged version to a lot of other barreled stouts - Thirsty Dog knows how to barrel, hands down.

Cranium by Triple Digit is phenomenal as well, but that barely even sees distribution at the brewery itself, so it won't make any national lists any time soon.

Of course, my opinion comes with the caveat that I have yet to give any of the BORIS variants a try...

Wow, now that you mention BORIS... Totally forgot about Hoppin' Frog. I'd have to give BA BORIS or BA DORIS the nod slightly over BBA Siberian Night.

And don't get mad, but I thought Cranium tasted like an ash tray. Had it in bottles and on draft. Thought it was disgusting, and I'm a Triple Digit/Listermann fan.

Palates gonna palate. I haven't had anything with the Triple Digit label that I haven't loved, but I've also not liked more than one highly-rated, highly-hyped stout.

Seems like I should get around to trying out the BORIS line!
