Can't argue that I guess. If you don't get in at doors, you probably don't get in, though.

Damn... bless all the people waiting an awfully long time on a gorgeous day just to check a beer in on unttapd.

This is basically all it is at this point.

Feels more crowded than last year but could also be that way more people have chairs (one group has a table?) which is just pushing out the length of the line. Definitely like atleast 60 folks here.

And a fucking table? Is this a tailgate now? Someone going to fill up a kiddie pool next?

I didn't make it into Hobo last year for first "round" of people. Went to Cambridge Brewing, walked back at 430 ish, still got Iris draft and gueze bottle. Had to wait for until 6pm for zwanze pour, but still got some cantillon. May just head there around same time later today.

It's the next day, and I did not make it to Lord Hobo. I still plan on shooting up to Magoun's in an hour or so. Even though Warsteiner gets knocked, I've had their Oktoberfest before (pale Oktoberfest). I found it to be quite enjoyable and representative of the pale Oktoberfest style. I can't wait to try it from a gravity keg.

Pretty sure the Cantillons were still on when I left like 15 minutes ago.

    Good to see you, @Jason.

Not true, actually. Remember that now we have some intelligent, ACTUAL beer geeks making the calls at many of our local distributors

The past two years we have kept our margins super thin on these beers, and gotten them where they need to go within a few days. We try to police the markup at locations that get the goods, to middling results unfortunately.

I don't have current #'s on me right now but what I have been showed in the past were a lot of HUGE markups ... not debating about it as it is "fact".

Do you work for Craft or the Shelton Brothers?

Would love to know the current Cantillon wholesale price from the brewery, specifically bottles.

Distributor. You'd recognize my non-internet face, we've chatted in the past.

I cant speak for prices in the distant past. But in the time I've been here we've been militant about not gouging over items like this. As you well know, and others forget, margins get slapped on by the brewery, importer, distributor & retail accounts. From what I've paid for lambic in Belgium I'd be willing to bet it starts fairly low.

Anyone go to Novare Res? I was planning on it but had to change plans last minute. Interested to see how busy/crazy it was?

So the prices going up is driven more by the bar? Would explain the $10 vs $6 price on Cantillon btwn Armsby and Hobo.

Eh, no. St. Gilloise was the only one that cost $7. The rest were $9 6 oz pours. Kriek was bottles only.
