Tales of Gluttony

I think most bottle shares would be considered gluttony or at least the ones I go to.

 

All kinds at various levels....and obviously the older the subject the sadder their story becomes.

The behavior you describe leads to death.

 

The Wade Boggs legend immediately comes to mind. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia did an episode based on it a season or two ago which was hilarious. If you aren't familiar, it involves the original speculation that the third baseman drank 60+ Miller Lites in a day, and then played. He denies that it was sixty, but the number is supposed to be pretty high.

 

Well, a can of beer looked like a thimble in Andre The Giant's hand. He had a prodigious habit that is legendary.

 

BMC drinkers of all sorts who put away a case or two of Light AAL in a week. A sad existence.

 

Any sadder than the "craft drinker" who consumes the same amount of alcohol per week and posts pictures of the act here?

 

I'm sure I have several stories of beer gluttony but for some reason I can't remember them clearly

I drank a shitload of Hofbrau Octoberfest this weekend… A SHIT LOAD! Including Friday over a case easy, plus some under bergs and a few hits of Jager out of the freezer. There was a campfire involved so there's my excuse

 

Some people are so hell bent that reality is not an issue. All of this is truly ephemeral and judgments mean nothing to mortality. I had an acquaintance in college that wrote on the library wall, "Give me librium or give me meth". He then drank a glass laced with arsenic, walked onto the lacrosse field and was found dead the next day. He was from a great family in NYC and was never able to deal with just growing up. It is so sad, but mental health is secondary in our system of health care delivery and remains as a stigma to families everywhere.

 

I guess I haven't seen that kind of quantity being but down the hatch in our own community. 1 case a week is just under 6 a day. I guess the first thing I thought of was a poor sap I know who does around 2 cases of Coors Light in a week.

 

I am actually doing some drinking today which I CAN do. In college at New Rochelle New York (an all girls catholic school) we used to go out for what we would call "gluttony fest" at a restaurant called Gables. (after Clark Gable.) I never paid. I ate real good. We drank until the cows came home and did they ever. Today is that day. Why? Individuality.

I feel like Schitt today...

 

I could drink a case of keystone light in 3 days if i wanted to. Ive done it once and its not boasting you can consider that gluttony.

Also i ask for sips of a friends of my girlfriends beer to try it and end up drinking a third of it. But its so rare when they have anything i like.

 

Losing drinking game after drinking game, and consuming 13 Sam's Summers and 5 tequila shots in 3 hours.. That was pretty gluttonous.

 

He's who came to my mind first. If I'm not mistaken, I've heard tales of him putting away an amount of beer that ranged up to the triple digits.

 

I just had a case of beer gluttony last night. I am a Beer Beast but I'm slowly retiring. Now it's watching the carbs the rest of this week

 

While playing our favorite college drinking game, Wizard Staff, I watched a kid take down 30 Bud Selects in an afternoon of day drinking. He was quite ill.

 

Found 119 beers in one sitting referenced on a couple of different sites.
