So, what you're all saying is: this stuff may be better than Expedition.

    Impossible!

It is better than fresh Expedition.

Bell's General Store is sold out. They weren't sure if they'll get more, but doubted it.

Love Bells beers, we'll all except the Planet Series, they kinda sucked.

Wow, we have very different perspectives on this.

Uranus, Mars, and Saturn are all among my favorite releases by any brewery in the past year, and I don't think I'm alone on that.

As for the others, I appreciated them for being decent to good versions of less heralded styles.

This is one of the better stouts I've had. I suspect it will age beautifully. A barrel aged version of this would be off the chain. Cheers.

Thanks! My "'Excess" Demerit Badge. First earned when I was 17. (...and only a couple more times since then…)

Opened one tonight. I got 2 bottles from my bottle shop (limit) and then got a 6 pack of the shelf at meijer tonight.

Thick  sweet, but not overly boozy. Reminded me a bit of pt5 even though I haven't opened one of those in awhile. Big fan though. Hoping they saved some and stuck it in barrels. That would be phenomenal.

Really impressed by this. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The booze seemed a little in your face, but in a good way, with no edge to it, just enjoyable. Grabbed a sixer, tried one last night and went back for another six today. In the age of $15 bombers this wasn't a bad price at $3/bottle.

I prefer less hoppy stouts so I like this better fresh than fresh Expedition but certainly not better than aged Expedition. Also, I think a bourbon barrel version of this could be Bell's best beer, the barrels could help thin it out some.

This is a fantastic beer. Lucked into a decent amount in South Haven this weekend. Cracked one open last night, completely blown away by Bells (again) on this one. Sip it, seems to open up and develop over the course of 30 minutes. Will be putting some down to rest for sure.

Reading everyone's feedback, is it possible this beer is the base for black note? Sounds awesome regardless

No sir. The malt build is closer to Expedition Stout more than anything. Black Note is a blend of Double Cream and Expo.

I went to the Black Note Deconstructed event at Ashley's AA and when I had 30th Anniversary that was the first thing I thought. I don't know about the malt bill like the above post mentioned, but based solely on taste and memory I have to say it was quite close. Might have to break open a 2014 Black Note during the holidays to put this thought to the test...

Wanted to go to this and had a conflict. Did they tell the ratio of expo and sc stout, or is that a secret? It would be easy to make your own "30th" if this theory were true.

Crap. I just opened one of these; I regret not getting another 6 pack. Might need to rectify that tomorrow.
