Starting today with the first of 2 beers to be reviewed. Victory's Festbier (3.55).

Is that a really old bottle by chance? If so I'll bet it was delicious. If not I'll bet it was also delicious.

I ask cause the label looks different. Maybe it's a different label for distro to the states?

Local beer store had unclaimed SoS. Can you imagine? Oh well, love that my beer guy thought of the Hunter. Cheers.

New one for me purchased at Eately, NYC. Thanks Mario! Very smooth. Not overly intense lemon brine. Super drinkable on this beautiful day.

Wandered around the store didn't really see anything today I was going to get a sixer of yet so I went with this classic and a first for me. Very good. Great mouth feel. I recommend Samuel Smith to get the basic of any style down and purchase others from there.Perfection.

Comically gorgeous weather today, with just enough of a hint of Autumn in the air that this seemed like a fitting brew

Very nice, more of a subdued smokiness not dissimilar to Schlenkerla Helles but with more of a Weizen body and a definite subtle meatiness to the aftertaste. Not sure if it'll be a regular purchase in this bottle/price format, but definitely an occasional pickup I think.

Since we're talking ham, it seems only fitting to pay tribute to the world's best ham product currently available (not to mention in general the pinnacle of human culinary achievement)

    Cheers!

I think that's the only label I've seen in the States. Just realised I've had it on draft many times in various Canada, including their MTL pub, but I've never seen a label there!

From google, I see two slightly different versions (w/ and w/o lattice work)---is this what you mean?

Against the Grain The Brown Note... yes, that The Brown Note, she of infamous bottle art fame (though in my case it's the same art on a 16oz can). And it doesn't taste like poo.
