That's the plan. Also, cool stuff brewed in L.A. will be served in S.D. and vice versa.

We've discussed adding food and coffee service to the Lomaland tasting room, and everyone is feeling positive about it, although we don't have concrete plans right now. Probably something we want to do after we've finished our big capacity expansion.

Going to hold off on releasing that info right now. This announcement came a little sooner than planned, so I'm not quite ready to answer every question. But stay tuned.

I totally understand the skepticism. But whatever your mind conjures up when you hear "vegan food", this will almost certainly not be that. It will not be health food. It will not help align your chakras. There will be no quinoa bowls or raw food or healing water. It will be insanely delicious and hearty and beer friendly and totally unlike any other vegan food in L.A. It will be like the food I used to eat after going to punk shows in New York, but executed at a much higher level and with more creativity. Again, stay tuned.

Plenty of flavor to be explored in the vegan space. The ingredients have to be of a high caliber, which knowing MT, they will be. Plus, LA has more than enough typical brewpub food. How many more expensive burger and fried chicken spots do we need? I'm more than stoked for this, despite the fact that I'll likely be moving in 2016.

 

Speaking of Ballast Point, they are opening a spot in Temecula. They are taking over the old Captain's Cabin restaurant location, west of the 15 on Rancho California. Remodeling has begun. Hopefully they have enough parking and are planning to brew on site.

MT for the win above and beyond all the other stranger beer news recently.

 

You know, they serve a place. I love taking them along York Blvd to eat tacos and drink some mixed drinks post or before HPB on a taco crawl. No one ever thinks twice since they look pretty damn well near sodas. Great for the beach and, well, whenever you want to do public drinking and not face a ticket.

A bit pricey, yes. But still solid.

It's going to be a ballast point tasting room and restaurant. Where Khoury's used to be in Long Beach / Seal Beach. Construction is already underway.
