Even with the new release, Amarillo was still available the next day.

Some people have to go early as they have other things to do later in the day.

Stop demonizing people for having different schedules than you.

I'm not demonizing people for having different schedules than me. I've had to go early myself.

What I *AM* doing is demonizing people who run around screaming "the sky is falling, the sky is falling," when it's entirely unnecessary.

you really think the reason that there is a line an hour before opening is "different schedules"?

You're the one running around like the sky is falling in each iteration of this thread telling people when they should show up.

It's a bit silly that you're so worried about other people and when or if they show up early.

Why don't you explain to me why people show up when they do. And then explain exactly how you know. Do you interview people while they're on line?

you're right, massive lines hours before beer releases is just one big coincidence throughout the entire beer industry.

It's cool that OH does all these single hops, but they should really do Mosaic every single batch until someone has had enough to not mind sending some extras to me.

What's your point exactly? Is it your job to make sure this doesn't happen at breweries you favor?

Newsflash, it's too late. For every brewery.

I would love to explain this to you, but I can't type in small enough words to help you understand. Moving along

    So getting back to beer.

Some FYI on Cascade hops for you all. Cascade is the descendant of Fuggle hops (though it does has Russian Serebrjanka hops in it's lineage) and it was first bred in 1956, but released to the public in 1972. It was Coors who first used this hop on a commercial scale. The hop slowly started to fade away into extinction until 1985, when Sierra Nevada discovered the hop and used it for their Pale Ale. Nowadays Sierra Nevada is the largest buyer of Cascade hops. Cascade is high in Myrcene hop oils which produce a green, herbal, floral, resinous aroma. Cascade also high levels of 4MMP (4-Mercapto-4-Methylpentan-2-one) which contribute to it's currant/grapefruit flavor.

Cascade NZ (New Zealand) is a little different due to terroir. It's bit more citrus/piney.

Yeah, but you yada-yada'ed over Liberty Ale.

I'm guessing that Other Half used more Cascades in this batch than Coors did in a month .

Ah interesting. Didn't realize Liberty was using Cascade back in 1975. My beer studies rarely mention Anchor Brewing when it comes to hops, it's always their contribution of Steam Ale/Californian Common.

That would be interesting to compare actually. I'm willing to bet the amount of Cascade in one OH batch equals less than a percent of the Cascade in a batch of Coors back then. Then you could scale it up to determine how many batches of Cascade Single hop OH could produce if they were as big as Coors.

Also Coors was just using Cascade because verticillium had destroyed most of the Mittelfruh hop crop one year.

I'm not sure if it was that early version of Liberty, but I'm pretty sure it was the first craft beer to feature them prior to SNPA.

Will Cascade be on tap for growler sales like the other single hops?
