Objectively, Presidente and Presidente Light have been some of the better "adjunct" beers we've had. Straightforward, and lacking in general watery BS. Great for general sippin' and warmer weather alike.

All have to be very cold, and with a very cold glass or thick frozen mug. My top 3:

I'm no beer snob and I don't begrudge anyone who likes their BMC but if I just want a "cold one" like the OP says, I can just grab a sixer of Bell's lager or a sixer of Lazy Daze amber lager tallboys. I also have no problem picking up some Negra Modelo or Shiner Bock.

    Guinness. PBR a close second

And this is usually b/c the bar doesnt have anything else, or I'm trying not to get wrecked.

Its not ever b/c "I've had a long day and just want something simple." I realize this is a feeling many identify with, it just hasn't happened to me yet.

    AMEN!!!!!!!!!! on the former.

My macro would be an occasional Lite. Throwbacks are a bonus.

How are these "macro"? :astonished: Macro refers to size, not adjunct-usage. None of these beers are from a "macro" brewery if one uses the Brewers Association of under 6m bbl/yr = "Small" - so, by extension, any brewer over 6m bbl/yr is "Macro". So, for domestic breweries, that leaves AB and MC. (I've always felt "macro" should be larger than just "large" - and should refer only to national breweries over 10m bbl/yr.)

    * (One could say, I suppose, that Pabst Blue Ribbon and the Pabst-owned brands that came from Heileman, Falstaff and Stroh were once "macro" and so can't shake they label despite their dismal current barrelages).

No, 'cause they were do-ers, not talkers...(and they called it "Black Label" :grinning:).

My impression was that Presidente was used as part of Caribbean torture. :grimacing::wink:

No, I am flatout sick of craft beer. Just poking fun with the sentence you quoted.

Clean and easy, I like Labatt Blue, but I drink more Miller Lite, less filling, less calories. The less calories thingy supplements my Martini habit. But I get an itch for a Bud every now and then too.

Yes, macro as defined by BA is about size. However, it's fair to say a very common conversational usage of the term is simply to denote "not craft." I'm usually with you on this stuff but it seems like you're just picking nits here.

Haha, having lived in the Caribbean for 2.5 years we ran the gauntlet of Caribbean beer torture. Mostly HORRENDOUS Euro strong/dark/whatever lagers. Presidente became somewhat of a sweat release, and while it isn't the tastiest of offerings, it did the job well for what the OP was referring to.
