Brooklyn Harvest Market on Union just got it in. Had to practically beg the guy to sell it to me though...

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales just curious. Why send cans out to bars that also got kegs when the beer is so limited and people are trekking all over the city trying to find it? Just not enough product for your regular accounts otherwise?

You know you've made it when people are offering to trade Heady, Fiddlehead, Lawsons for your beer!

Just picked up 2 cans (the limit) @ $4.99 from the Foodtown in Harlem. Bill is a solid dude. Spoke with him a bit after he saw my purchase and is trying to spead the wealth as much as possible.

Bill's a great dude indeed. Much respect to him and his stores.

Damn man. You gonna have all the whale chasers up in the hood trying to track down a beer. That Foodtown is supposed to be the reward for all of us that live up there.

Harlem aint "the hood" it used to be. Sketchy characters are still present but like most of NYC its pretty harmless. I did think about keeping my mouth shut but they post up on BeerMenus so it was already public knowledge.

We all talk about trying to keep hype to a minimum - doesn't posting "X store has X sought after beer" add to it? I say just let people do their thing and hopefully get lucky at the stores they go to anyway

I'm not sure that this is hype though - the hype already exists and the demand is real. Letting people know that a store has something available doesn't generate more hype, it just points people in the right direction.

It's my hood. Always appreciate being able to find gems at that Foodtown. God forbid the downtown crowd starts making trips uptown for no other purpose than to raid this store of all the good beer. Guess the secrets out of the bag now (or as you pointed out, may have already been).

But seriously, it's the wild wild west up there. Crazy. They blast on site and ask questions later. Don't step a foot up there unless you're packing. Don't risk your life over a beer!

If there was a dislike button for this post I would have hit it. There are a ton of people on this thread who have been drinking Grimm for a while and will probably never get to see a can of this. I grabbed mine and posted where I got it as soon as I could. This is supposed to be a community where people who care about beer help others like minded people.

Plenty of people who support the brewery and went to their "regular store" would miss out on this one if they were more than an hour behind the truck (or like had a job or something).

Haha. I guess I think exactly the same way you do, but see the solution as being totally different. I love Grimm, I also have a FT job, and I wouldn't mine being able to go to some of my usual, more off-the-radar stores, and actually have a chance of getting some - I don't care that much as I'll get to have it on draft, but that's where I'm coming from. So I'm not sure what the benefit is to you, or me, or anyone else in our situation, if someone posts at 10am on a Tuesday - "dude just got some at XYZ store". I would say that rewards the people with a very "flexible" schedule. The same ones that posted about a case worth of BCBCS in the hauls thread last year when the same info was being posted about the Bourbon Counties.

All the people in this thread you talk about, who have been drinking Grimm a while (as if tenure matters) who want to get some, are probably less likely to now thanks to this thread.

Huh? Are you guys being serious? I know there are some lazy (and opportunistic) BA's, but for the most part I find most here on BA helpful and willing to share info. Nothing I hate more than when someone comes on here and says I scored XX in BK and there's only 1 case left and refuses to name the store. Telling someone to go do their own homework when you know where they can get the beer is a head scratcher to me. Especially when most of us are on here to share info with one another.

I was joking in a way. I share information with others all the time. I think it may be redundant though, as most of us here are such hardcore beergeeks were doing the legwork anyway.
