Have a friend that recently moved to Athens, OH for next couple of years for schooling. I've had Brew Kettle White Rajah and FatHeads Head Hunter. Curious what other pales, IPA, DIPA might be available in bottle shops or grocery stores in Athens, OH that would be worth trying. Thanks for any input!

Well he'll be right near Jackie O's so Mystic Mama, Hop ryot and then growler fills of Mandala etc. There's a bottle shop right on Court st. and they seem to get a regular rotation of stuff. Revolution, Rivertown, Fatheads, Brew Kettle, Floyds (I guess they have list for that) Ballast point to name a few.

@Treebute Thanks for the info! I'll have her look for some of those. Trying to stick with cans/bottles that she can bring when flying back here to visit family or are easier to ship than growlers (also looking for ones I haven't tried and/or don't distribute to GA). Have had Revolution stuff when visited Chicago and Ballast distributes in GA.

Am familiar with seekabrew, just wasn't sure which ones might be easily found in Athens area. Thanks!

I would assume Rheingeist Truth is available, Four String Skeleton Red, Columbus brewing IPA. Homestead makes several IPAs. Just guessing since those are all from the Southern part of the state. However, tell her to avoid Portsmouth Brewing. I like to support local, but those folks need some practice.

You should take advantage of the opportunity to have a place to stay and go visit, especially in the summer when Athens will feel wonderfully cool compared to GA. Then you could sample Jackie O's fresh on tap as well as a new pace, Devil's Kettle. Athens should be only a day's drive, depending on your location in GA. If your route would take you through NC you could pick up some tasty beers there too.

And then Columbus is only about 2 hrs. from Athens and has a booming craft scene, so there's that too.
