wow. I'll be hitting the Food Truck Festival in Marlboro on Saturday, but I may pack my empty growlers and try to sneak off afterwards to hit the taproom for a couple fills...

I was there for an event a couple months ago, beers ranged from good to excellent, the space itself is great, nice and roomy and the folks running it were awesome. I highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. And no, @krantul did not pay me to say this...

Going to pick up the DDH Citra Legacy tonight. I thought the regular version was really good, so I'm excited to try it. Of their other beers I've had, I've particularly enjoyed Laser Cat, Confector, and Moffat 80/-.

Just want to toss out a plug. Went today and had a great time. Awesome space with super nice and knowledgable bartenders. Had a sample of most of the beers. They were all good to very good. Highlights for me were the dark mild, lasercat ipa and stout lad. Is recommend a stop in. It was the first new growler I have felt a need to buy in well over a year.

Excited to try these guys out.

Anybody got tips on accessing the rail trail or any other kid friendly attractions nearby?

Not sure on what tips you're expecting - the rail trail (I presume you refer to the paved path, not the very good restaurant) is a block away. Go away from the rotary and you can't miss it. If you mean the restaurant, go a block or so towards the rotary and you can't miss it. Either way, afterwards I recommend the New City Microcreamery across the street from the restaurant. Some INCREDIBLE ice cream, owned by the same people as the Rail Trail restaurant.
As far as other kid friendly, there isn't really a whole lot in Hudson, though there are plenty of apple picking places nearby. I like Honeypot Hill in Stow (try the cider doughnuts) Berlin Orchards in Berlin and Nashoba Winery/brewery/apples in Berlin (I think) also.

I second what @JrGtr said. I like Berlin Orchards for Apple picking and Gate's Pond is a nice walk and you can fish there. I actually prefer that to walking the Rail Trail, unless you are riding your bike.

Keep an eye out for DDH Citra Legacy.

Sounds like there's a lot of good stuff going on at Medusa these days. I happened upon the place a few weeks after they opened up and definitely saw a lot of potential. Sounds like I need to get back out there.

I'm thinking of stopping by on my way through the area on Saturday. Any recommendations on what to try? Is the porter similar to the original ProAm recipe? Loved that stuff.
Hoping it's not too crowded due to Zwanze at the Abbey. I'll only have one of the kids in tow for once, so it won't be nearly as hectic. I'll probably grab a pretzel and do some growler fills.

Lots of space so it shouldn't be that bad. I like Luminary, but you can get flights and try different things. Be a hero and take the kid to New City Microcreamery for ice cream down the street.

Blighty is pretty much the same beer as Pro-Am Porter.

Tried the Blighty last night and can confirm that it is essentially the Pro-Am Porter. Excellent beer. Tried the Futurist IPL too and was impressed. Different take than something like Hoponius Union. More of a NE style IPA with a lager yeast. Very cloudy and lots of exotic fruit hoppyness. Really like it.

Having a growler of futurist right now. (IPL with galaxy citra and azacca) it's really really good. Very fruity With a little spiciness. Hazy like a NE IPA. Just awesome. Really hitting a groove.

Glad you enjoyed it! Getting Galaxy is a huge challenge for us, in our relative youth as a brewery, but hopefully we can bring Futurist back from time to time.

Hop contracts are a bear in the the current landscape. Keep it up though. You guys/gals are killing it. Also the dart board is clutch.
