I almost said something to you about this.

I'm going either way, I'm just venting about wanting more. I don't think it's entitled or unfair to feel that way.

Venting would be like "golly geez wiz I wish I were able to get more than two". Entitlement would be talking about how much more gas and time you are putting into it to get the same amount as anyone else. Glad you didn't take that last route.

I guess the way I look at this is, there are breweries all over the country doing similar releases, and allowing similar numbers of bottles for purchase. If it's not worth your time/money to make it all the way over for 2 bottles, New Glarus's stance is probably "well then, find a place closer to you with an offer that makes more sense for you." Dan and Deb have made it pretty clear that their first priority is taking care of locals, so even though you are a local in that you're from WI, I don't think they're trying to make this release incredibly attractive to people coming from long distances; they're just releasing a beer at their brewery, for purchase in a quantity they think is fair for all those showing up. They can't worry about everyone's travel expenses any more than any other brewery does. Also, I'm not trying to criticize you, since I get the struggle; I'm just saying that I don't think it's on NG to try and make everyone happy. If it were, I'd expect Goose Island to make it easier for me to purchase BCBS!

I see what you're saying and I agree. It seems pretty harmless on this release to let a few more bottles go. Who knows maybe they will that day, if as few people show as everyone is thinking.

Honestly, it probably is. I was going to say, "hang around, see if they have more after the release is over." If Wild Bitter lasted weeks, I don't see why this one wouldn't, given that it's been made before, and most people don't see to be that excited about it. Also as I mentioned, I'm hoping for this myself, since I had to cancel plans to come up to NG that weekend. The longer it hangs around, the better!

I would almost guarantee that they will not sell extras after the release, im sure they will stick to the 2 bottle limit per person. Even when wild bitter sat in the depot for a couple of weeks, the limit was 2 per person the entire time.

Pro tip- maybe use a few less F-bombs and try to calm your tone and more people may read what you have to say and MAY even agree with you.

I believe they kept to a 2 bottle limit the whole time that Anniversary Ale was at the depot and that was months. I can't imagine them every increasing it on an R&D.

Love Coffee and Road Slush, they just aren't "big" stouts. That is actually what I like about New Glarus; so many of their beers are so sessionable, and very well done. I know I'm in the minority, but I could care less about their sours.

I for one am very interested to see how the new version compares to the 2009 release, or at least from what I remember lol

Me too! I wasn't drinking beer back then but I just acquired a 2009 Golden Ale in a trade so I'm looking forward to doing a side-by-side. I'm sure they'll be very different but it should be a lot of fun.
