Wow... 40 breweries?!? There are less than 20 in my entire province :stuck_out_tongue:

I've seen a lot of people on here describe the Samuel Adam's lineup as utter trash and I was specifically appealing to those people. If you have 40 breweries in your local vicinity I don't blame you for not drinking non-local beer.

I was with you as well. Dunno what the fellows in this thread and others "never buying Lagunitas again" are thinking.

I will only do a 180, in either direction, for quality control related issues. Strangely, it hasn't happened too often...

Sam Adams has some quality product buried under all the offerings

All these people complaining about Lagunitas, claiming they will never buy anything they make again... Are you actually serious? I don't get it - do you think you are sticking it to the man or something absurd like that? Do you think you not giving Heineken $12 is really accomplishing anything? Do you think you are "Anti-Establishment" and that all big corporations are evil?

    Please.

Odell rocks. I only get Odell when I go to Fort Collins for a conference once or twice a year. I can't get it in Canada.

    Their IPA fresh is awesome.

    Myrcenary is great.

I used to love Blue Point being a local Long Islander. there beer is good but average and still drank it I think for nostalgic reasons although there toasted lager is great. Then i found out they were bought out by Budweiser and that put a bad taste in my mouth. not faulting them for cashing out i mean do your thing..but ive pretty much turned my back. Sad

Lagunitas is awesome. I would only stop buying their beers if they start dropping in quality, but so far, they still taste delicious.

Clownshoes...stouts. Tried them years ago and wasn't a fan. Now I can't get enough of "undead party crasher"...

What is there to get? Some people would prefer to support craft breweries, not macros. This seems to really bother you.

180 negative = Magic Hat. I had number 9 and a couple of their others a lot when I was first getting into craft, but after so many awesome beers over the years, MH just tastes awful every time I have it.

180 positive = OEC. Sours were never my thing until I kept trying more offerings from here. Now I can't get enough.

Otter Creek. Back in the day never much impressed. Love the hoppy brews they have been putting out for the last few years as well as Couch Surfer. Citra Mantra, Kind Ryed, Back Seat Berner...all been good options!

Yep. I actually did two 180s on Otter Creek. I loved their Copper Ale in high school, but in the early aughts it began to lag far behind other Vermont offerings. Now in the past couple of years the whole brand has been revitalized and I look forward to trying anything new they put out.

I still think Lagunitas is craft, just not micro. I will keep be buying their stuff, though.

Agreed....perfect example of people wanting breweries to be successful, but not tooo successful. Completely boggles my mind. You are starting to see the same now with Lagunitas, and probably will see with DFH. Completely defies logic in my opinion.
Reminds me of old punk rock bands...its only cool to like them if they are scraping by, but once they become popular or sign a big deal....Sellout! Not cool anymore.
    Very strange

Lauganitas, I was addicted to maximus and sucks, then I finally had brown shugga and then didn't want maximus anymore, tho their ipa is still delish.

I supposed like many getting started into craft beer, I started drinking many beers from Sam Adams. I've done a complete 180 on them and won't buy anything from them now. I'd drink it if it was offered to me at a friends but nothing from them even remotely compares to the many superior choices out there.

If you never liked them or are still mad about the "sellout," you should go try 10 Barrel. Specifically the Joe IPA in sixers, which blows away their flagship Apocalypse IPA. So killer. They make some outstanding beers. Always medal at GABF, too.

Brewery Ommegang. Was totally uninterested. Now i enjoy belgian styles and its perfect because theyre only the next state north, and i can get bombers at my shop for $8. Better than a 4pk for 14$ same store. Especially being new to the style i can find what i like and not spend mass amounts to find out i dont like it and have 3 more

I hope i can still find Scythe and Sickle today on my break. Saw it last week.

hmmm... I really liked Otter Creek's older and more diverse portfolio of beers (Stovepipe Porter, Copper Ale, [old] Pale Ale, Middleberry Ale, Oktoberfest); But now their portfolio is just a bunch of citrus-hop-bombs that do little to differentiate Otter Creek from the many other brewers making the same sort of beers these days.

Although not related to the taste of the beer, I also liked Otter Creek's old traveling otter mascot, and was bummed when they abandoned him. The otter mascot made more sense than the current hipster-hippy pothead and his dog.
