Sets up in person trades while not being verified and also doesn't follow through on trade.Don't waste your time with him.
If he's unverified he doesn't have access to this page and won't see the tag. At least I believe that's how it works.
The fact that he's not verified and his trade feedbacks are not visible should be enough reason alone to proceed with caution
^ Seriously. If you trade with an unverified person, you do so at your own risk. It's the entire point of using the verification system in the first place. Honestly, I'm not sure this warrants a Bad Trader thread. We don't even know the details of what happened beyond some vague note about how he "doesn't follow through".
^^^ @pinatax please provide some actually details for this supposed bad trade. i.e. what was the agreement? Were beers actually exchanged (you said IP so I assume nothing was shipped)? Were you stood up? As it stands, we have nothing to go off of to formulate our own opinions....
So, if he's not verified then that means the trade feedback system wasn't used. Correct? Was this trade actually set up on BA or Facebook or something? Calling somebody out without providing more details is not cool IMHO
Jumping the gun here, OP. A guy not showing up for an IP trade is a weak move, but is far from meeting the criteria of Bad Trader as defined here, especially if the feedback system was never engaged. Live and learn, and move on.
@F2brewers @blue-dream What is the deal with tagging non-verified people in bad trade forums? Can they even see this thread to respond?
Nope, I don't think so. In this case, it wouldn't matter since the user hasn't been on since Saturday, but it's bad form, IMO. We'll leave it up for a few more days to see if there's any response, but I'm inclined to delete it as a whole (rarely done in this forum) since it was IP and the feedback system wasn't engaged. @pinatax ...What evidence do you have to support your side of this?
Isn't soliciting trades outside the trade system as an unverified user against the rules in the first place? More than just 'proceed with caution", I would want the person to become verified so that a trade feedback can be created before proceeding at all. Not calling for any mod action (timeout/ban) here, but if my memory of the rules is accurate, perhaps more investigation is warranted in case this person is attempting to trade outside the system for malicious reasons?
It's not against the rules, but certainly not recommended. I have some RTPs who are not "verified", but...they're RTPs, so I'm really not worried. If he's posting outside the forums, please report it and we'll take care of it. If he's doing in in conversations/BMs, engage at your own risk. If you're concerned, report it and we'll take a look. Without evidence, it's a he said/she said where we're loathe to take action. At this point @pinatax hasn't responded either. I changed the thread title. Perhaps we'll just leave this up as an example of what *not* to do without flagging either user in the title.
The amount of these "Bad Trader" threads that are so vague and half-asses are shocking to me. I feel like half of these threads are like reading page 2 of a 3 page article. There's no lead up, no details and no ending, just the middle of a choose your own ending book.
Hey, sorry to cause all this confusion just wanted to put out a quick note letting people know that he just disappeared on me after we worked out a trade.Learned a lot on this all together,he finally did get back to me and it was because of a death in the family. If this happens again I will not jump the gun and leave a vague comment I will leave a better detailed description of the whole transaction. Thanks for the help and again sorry for causing any problems.
