Broadway Dive on 101st is also good. The only place I saw Stone Green Tea IPA on tap.

Just a walk up from the 2 at 96th.

And Dive 75 is just over from the 72nd street stop for the 2.

Just get off the 5 at Brooklyn Bridge and walk down Park Row, which flows into the Bowery, right on Grand, left on Orchard. Top Hops has 447 bottles, which is the most for any bar or bottle shop in New York City.

That's a bit of a walk! Esp for someone looking for a place "a block or less away". Better off transferring to the 6 at some point and get off at Spring and walk East if he wants to go to Top Hops. (or transfer to the F/M and take it to Essex/Delancey)

Does anyone know of any beer bars that lean towards Mets fans? I'll be in NYC this weekend and I'm looking for a bar to watch the game at that wont be focused on the Yankees game (assuming they make it through the WC). Thanks.

    You could try Standings: http://standingsbar.com/

    Or Croxley's: http://www.croxley.com/new-york-city.html

Get a case of your favorite beer and a bottle opener, and just drink it on the #2 or #5 train. That will avoid these geographical complexities.

Not going to start a new thread but hoping info is a bit more updated than threads from a year or two ago, looking for a place to watch the games on Sunday within a mile or so of Grand Central, must have Sunday Ticket (and 10+ TV's I guess) and a good beer selection, hopefully serving flights.

This is right up my alley. Rode that 2 and 5 heavy. Hated both those trains though.

From the 2 here are my recommendations:

Broadway Dive or Dive Bar at 96th Street.

Pony Bar from 42nd Street (a bit of a walk, but that helps you on the return as you get to sober up)

Blind Tiger ain't far from 14th Street

I know some of these have mentioned, so sorry for the redundance.

    From the 5:

Just head to Union Square, head East and you can find beer bar after beer bar in the East Village. There are a bunch that get zero mention on here and worth a beer, but I'll throw out Drop Off Service, then keep walking south and you'll hit THE BEST BEER BAR in NYC Proletariat. Barcade is close by and worth a visit. Earlier in the day, Good Beer is close too and worth a visit. There's a bar on the same street as Proletariat called Austin or August or something with an AU (I know that much at least) with a few decent beers. It was the first place I ever had an Other Half beer (their IPA) in May 2014.

You could easily keep going south from there and hit Fool's Gold, One Mile House, Top Hops (generally a waste of time), and so on. I do this all the time. Heading home, head to Houston/Lafayette for the 4 train.
