This doesn't address the comparison to 2009, but due to the moisture content many brewers use 5-7x the weight of wet hops as they would dried. Total guess here, but if Surly changed their process to use less fresh hops in the boil and use dried hops for bittering, the 4x hop pounds could be used to make 10x the beer.

Of course! Water weight was a huge oversight. In that case I hope you're on to something. Even if Surly's efficiencies are higher than ever a couple pounds per barrel doesn't sound nearly as impressive.

Folks, this hit shelves over 2 hours ago. Someone out there has to be at least one 4-pack deep by now. Please report.

Seriously, post your thoughts Monday day imbiber!

Interesting. The only time I had Wet was the 2013 version, and I thought it was terrible. The hop bill might explain why.

2013 was an outlier, all other years were good to beyond great (2011)

so you'd rather have no wet at all than this year's version? that's saying something...

Wet was released at Butcher and the Boar yesterday for Boar-fest, so normal people have had a chance to try it, in addition to the Monday day imbibers

I have been calling around all day and can't find a single liquor store that has it in stock today. France 44 and Surdyk's both say Wednesday, and Cub Liquors is saying Wednesday or Thursday. Zipp's told me they are hoping their shipment comes tomorrow (Tuesday). Other stores were totally noncommittal. I called Surly to see if they had any information, and they said that they have no control over distribution and so they could not help me. Frustrating! I'm dying to try the new Wet!

Princetons and Vinifera have it. Both have posted no limit. It was $15.99 at Vinifera, I believe.

Do people really call liquor stores all day to check about a seasonal Surly beer? Settle

I think you took a wrong turn and forgot where you were.... FYI, Costco in maple grove has tons of wet, 12.99. Nothing in the south side yet that I have seen.

Ah yes, forgot about the Boarfest release! Still, interested in how it is out of cans more than tap.
