Heading up to Troy on Thursday, I'll only be in town for one night, but I'm looking to see if anyone knows a good brewpub or a place to have a good dinner that has good beer in the area.

    Thanks!

Big Rock is near troy. Hit up happy hour for cheap good food and beer if you sit at the bar and order from the happy hour food menu. If you dont sit at the bar during happy hour, you cant get happy hour prices on food, not sure about beer. Go outside happy hour for expensive good food and slightly expensive beer.

+1 to Big Rock. It has excellent food and beer and is the best local option in my opinion. A Granite City Brewery just opened up near I-75 but it's not a local company. Black Lotus is also close but it's beers are mediocre and not a good food selection.

For beers to bring back with you, hit up Red Wagon (there's one in Troy, but the Rochester Hills location is much better), or Zetouna (Roch Hills).

3rd the Big Rock, but if it's not happy hour, I never go there. It's just too expensive without the discount.
Granite City has really good food, but their beers are pretty "meh". Enjoyable, but not worth seeking out.
It's worth it to venture out and go to Warren for Kuhnhenns and Dragonmead. I'm also pretty sure that you can get food delivered while you're there.

CK Diggs in Rochester Hills has a solid tap lineup as well, and might be more reasonably priced. Their food wasn't anything special from what I remember, but it wasn't bad either.

You'll be minutes away from Clubhouse BFD. Great food and excellent tap selection. Ask for the BDOD and his recommendations. You will enjoy some incredible brews.

I live 3 miles away and never even knew about this. I will be sure to check it out sometime.

I always drive over to Red Wagon and drive right on by Zetouna, It's worth stopping in there you say?

Luckily they've rid themselves from the $15/KBS for whatever absurd price they were charging.

Definitely. I find that Zetouna has slightly cheaper prices on everything, and a random hard to find beer here and there, but most of their beers are sold in 4 or 6-packs. I like the guy a lot and shop here whenever possible. I think if he had more space, you'd be able to find anything you want there. They also have a 15 foot high wall of liquor and a few shelves for wines, so I think they are managing the small space the best that they can. They continually have a bunch of Kuhnhenn's stuff on the shelf.

Red Wagon is slightly more expensive, but has an extensive array of singles and bombers on the shelves. The Troy location only has one rack for singles to go with their coolers, but the Roch Hills location has a similar amount of coolers and quite a few shelves of randoms.

Both are within a mile of my house and I am very thankful.

Theyre super new, maybe been opened 4 months tops I think.

Is Zetouna the one right before the on ramp to 59?

Just saw it for $25/30 at multiple places in Chicago. I know it's Chicago, but damn. I think a lot of the time they're priced like that just so they stay on the list for a while.
