That's exactly right. They can pick and choose based off their experiences they're having as an employee because you're there for the product, not the service. The product keeps people coming back.

No we didnt, it was bad. It wasnt that it was bad beer, it was the fact they wanted us to pay for the bad beer.

They told us that they didnt clean the keg lines in awhile and gumball head hasnt sold so well in the past week or so. Honestly I think it was just a bad batch, not the keg lines, If it was the keg lines it would have been in only or two beers, but thats just a guess, I dont know how long the keg lines are

As these guys have mentioned, Saturday is absolutely the worst day to go. Not only is it packed for a Saturday, they usually have tours which brings even more people to the pub than would on a normal Saturday.

Regarding the service, FFF has some peculiarities about getting in, long waits, etc. However, once inside, I've never had a problem with any of the servers or bartenders and I'm a pretty frequent customer.

I do like the new beer buying location they got, it cuts down on traffic inside the bar

I love FFF threads. Half the people hate on them, the other half sing their praise.

FWIW, with regard to the waitstaff - was told last Friday by a server (not a bartender) that they are not told anything when it comes to details on upcoming beers or when a keg is/was/will be tapped, etc.

The exact quote was: "I work here about 60 hours a week, and they keep us in the dark on any of that information because they don't want bad information being put out there."

I don't know about you guys, but that makes a whole lot of sense to me. They aren't trying to be coy, they just don't want FFF employees putting out any misleading info. Cheers for that!

How big will your group be, exactly?

And keep in mind, they're in an industrial park. There's nowhere really to go and wait (aside from your car). I mean, the war memorial is worth checking out, but it might be closed for the evening by the time you get there.

    Speaking of the tours...

How early should one get there on a Saturday to actually get into a tour? I have a friend who wants to go on one, and I pretty much have resigned myself to getting there way before noon to guarantee a spot. The question is how early should we get there?

Just do what I do. Go at 11:30 a.m. on a weekday. I've done this about ten times. It has always been empty enough that I have sat on the same bar stool every time. Easy.

Our service the one time I was there was excellent. Guess we were lucky.

There is a misconception here between Three Floyds management and service.
Their service has yet to fail me, whether there for a quick growler or an entire meal and several pints.
Their management on the other hand can blow me. They are the ones who are creating the types of restrictions that won't let part of your group meet inside, release any info, determine the allocations of beer releases on any given day, and basically do whatever they want because "we're FFF, if you dont like it, leave". The bartenders and wait staff have always been knowledgable and as quick as they can be for such a packed high energy environment. I lost all respect for management with the way the Anniversary party was run and my own witnessing of Nick Floyd's arrogance. As I just entered the chain link fence I watched him barrel past a security guard, working his party, when the guard told him in as polite a way as possible to come get stamped for re-entry. Nick Floyd turned and stated "I own this fuckin place" and had all his shareholders laughing at the security guards expense. I understand you own this place and are proud, but why shame him instead of just responding in a normal manner that you are the owner? He acted like he was Hulk Hogan and everyone should recognize him and bow down to his greatness.

If you want to do a tour, I would recommend getting a group together and seeing if they can set something up for you. We did this with our tasting group and they showed us around right away on Saturday morning when they opened. When the tour was over they had a table reserved for us in the pub and we had a nice lunch. It worked out great.
