Twin Cities Bottle Hunt

Had it at WTWBA this past weekend. Pleasant nose, but the beer itself is very one note. Overall meh. Would be interested at $6-$7 bottles, but no way would I buy one at this price.

 

I had it there as well but question my pallette as i tried it after drinking 25 other sour beers

 

Plenty of Pompeii ($7.99), Black Butte XXVII ($12.99) and Wet ($14.99) at Total Wine Bloomington as of lunchtime. Even saw some Central Waters BA Scotch Ale hiding out on a shelf.

Speaking of CW BA beers, anyone know when Cherry Stout releases? Did I miss it?

 

Re: Mankato Pumpkin Grinder - I've been searching for this in Minneapolis over the last couple weeks and haven't spotted it. I saw some sampler packs at Total Wine in Bloomington, but they didn't contain Pumpkin Grinder. Has anyone seen it in the metro?

 

Saw a couple of six packs at Apple Valley #3 on Tues.

 

fwiw, grinder has a strange packaging. they use the carrier of another brew and put a label/sticker over it.

ive seen it around but cant recall where, as i wasnt noting it. want to say maybe big top in ridgedale. as well as that haskells.

it disappears fast though. someone just cleared the shelf at wayzata wine and spirits. think it got top notch at GABF this year, could be why.

It's a winter-time release & is the scarcest of the CW BA beers, so keep an eye out once the snow start flying.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but it has never been distributed in MN. Hudson would be the closest place to grab some when it does come out. 2 years ago, I saw lots of it in Madison months after it was released.

 

I picked up BB Cherry Stout last year and I felt like I grabbed it in Minneapolis, but I could be wrong - that was many beers ago

EDIT: The more I think about it, I probably got this when I was in Superior, so maybe it was only WI. MN might see it this year as CW has been ramping up production of this beer, from what I heard from the brewer when he was at F44 earlier this year.

 

pretty sure its a late December/early January release. per a FB post by Central Waters on the 5th of this month, it will be WI only again this year.

 

I picked it up at Haskels in Maple Grove last week.
