The Locals HINTS AND HAULS THREAD

Glad he's on the upswing and recovering -- surgery is never easy, but kids are much more resilient than we all realize. I love the thumbs up picture!

 

So LIF results --

There were 42 entrants (excluding me) in the Locals Se7en round, which should conclude within a week or so.

Out of these 42 people...

How many have I shipped or given beer to? Correct answer = 23
How many have I received beer from? Correct answer = 23 (and no, it was not the exact same group I shipped to)
How many have I met in person? Correct answer = 6, since a few Locals I've met didn't participate in that round
How many have I met the significant other of? Correct answer = 3

I haven't figured out exactly what my scoring methodology (I'm thinking least-squares) or tiebreaker (I'm thinking everybody wins) will be.

The least squares winner (with guesses of 25-25-8-3 and a total "score" of 12) was @xICooRsYIx
The absolute difference winner (with guesses of 23-19-7-3 and a total "score" of 5) was @whyteboy003

Those two guys were first and second in either scoring system, so they (along with @UTvols05 , who won the Billy Joel concert segment) will receive boxes soon -- I hope to pack this weekend, which should get done while I watch excessive amounts of baseball playoff, nfl football, and college football. If any of you who have received from me in the past prefer to ninja/defer, BM me (ideally with more than one target option). Thanks!

Jeesh you guys werent kidding, when it rains, it pours. I've got a little streak going on here. That method where you use incorporate the same few numbers in every LIF answer is working like a charm. My cellar/fridge count are hitting record digits for me...

 

So one neighbor smelled something strange in her house. Her neighbor told her to open the windows and get the family out of the house. They call 911 and SIX fire trucks come. They inspect the house and come over to a group of us and said they didn't find anything and asked who lives in the adjoining house. The owner identified himself and the fire captain said they would be going into his house to make sure it was safe. The guy argued there was nothing coming from his house.

After the fire captain left the homeowner said 'fuck I've got weed out on my dining room table'. I lost it. Hilarious.

Ok, to keep the spirit of beer going forward, here is my LIF. The Texas Rangers have won the division and are heading to the playoffs. My lif will be this: How many total runs will the Rangers score in the first round against the Toronto Blue Jays. First game will be played Oct. 8th and will run thru the 14th if necessary. Closest to the correct amount wins a box of Texas Locals. In the event of a tie, how many strike outs will the pitching AND bullpen get thru the series. Good luck!
