No tap list online which doesnt really surprise me...its Maui. I think they had something like 20 - 30 taps. Marriott looked nice - Enjoy!

Why would they list the sh!te beers in the craft beer list? For the locals who consider them craft?

Just back from Maui. Thanks to the forums for pointing me to some good beer. The whole foods near the maui airport has an outstanding selection. Be sure to check bottle dates as there are some dated. They have most everything Hawaii as well as many California, Oregon and others. Abyss and Dissident were $14 and Deschutes was fresh for all their products. Was able to get some fresh Modern Times (only one of the 6 options wasnt reasonably fresh), Stone and Clown Shoes.

Visited Maui Brewing up North of Lahaina - always a good visit, especially with kids. New beer to try each time. Missed the Imperial Coconut Porter.

Both the Safeway and the Times markets carry pretty standard stuff, nothing unique. Big Swell, Coconut Porter, Torpedo and Fresh Squeezed hit the mark. Safeway had bombers of Big Island Brewing which has some decent stuff.

The little market inside of the Honua Kai condo resort has a surprisingly good selection of craft beers.

The beer variety has really improved these last couple years.
    Aloha and enjoy your trip.

Just got back from Maui (Wailea) as well. Some updates/comments on places I visited:

Whole Foods - right next to the airport so stocked up here. Standard large Whole Foods selection. Most of the IPAs were bottled/canned February-ish so be careful. Saw plentiful Abyss and Dissident as mentioned above. There were no longer any BCBS 4 packs (someone mentioned them lingering here) - the beer guy said they finally sold out about a week ago.

Monkeypod Kitchen - great beer selection, fantastic food. Highly recommend this place. Fresh Breakside Wanderlust IPA was a highlight.

Maui Brewing Co. - the new brewery in Kihei was amazing and not to be missed. They had 28 of their beers on tap (!) plus a couple guests. Their food truck game is on point too. Pau Hana Pilsner was great in the sun, drank a lot over the week.

Migrant - Wife is a Top Chef fan so had to visit Sheldon's restaurant at the Marriott. Great food and fairly good beer list. Never made it to the Ka'anapali Grille also in the Marriott though.

Love the old bumped threads. I went to Maui a couple years ago and the beer scene was the last thing I was thinking about. Best blowhole on earth and in my opinion the best beaches this side of Oahu in the 50 U.S. States. All that being said a day at the beach and a night hanging at the brewery in Maui is an experience that anyone and everyone if they can afford it should experience.

What kine blowholes you stay talking about skunkpuddle?:flushed:

Local wine/spirit/beer/best frikken' poke bowl chain Tamura's expanding to the Kihei area in October. New craft beer bar "What Ales You" opened in the Kihei Barmuda Triangle (aka Kalama Village) earlier this month.

If you like your drinks with a side of beef and a large Hawaiian Punch, a 100+ person brawl took place outside the aforementioned Barmuda Triangle the other week: http://www.kitv.com/news/brawl-breaks-out-on-maui/34232266.

Thats why you always leave the triangle before 1230 . Nothing good happens there after that, even more so if you are a haole boy haha.

We're headed to Maui and Kauai in two weeks (!) for our honeymoon. Got some great ideas from this and other threads, but since all the information is about a year old figured I'd see if anything new has opened that I should check out. Thank you!

Just bring a shitload of treehouse and trillium with you and you'll be fine. Whatever you can't fit in your luggage just send to me. Lol. Nothing new just the spot talked about above in Kihei.

Just make sure to go to the blowhole when you are on Maui. It's the most beautiful place I've ever been too.

We were there last month for our honeymoon. Where are you staying? We stayed in Wailea. Best beer around there is Monkeypod (as others have mentioned). Awesome food as well. Maui Brewing is a fun place to hang out; they had a food truck (which we didn't try because we had dinner plans already), lots of board games, and lots of their beers on draft. Most places will have the core Maui and Kona stuff either on tap or in cans; I like the Maui Big Swell IPA, but if you see their DIPA, I thought that was much better. There's also some west coast stuff on tap, like Deschuetes and Lagunitas.

I'm jealous! We were lucky enough to go to Hawaii twice this year (Big Island and Oahu in March, Maui and Kauai last month); wish I could do that every year. Enjoy!

Maui Brewing Doppelbock cans dropped earlier this month.

This little nugget dropped on IG a few hours ago, so who knows what will happen by the time you get here playa (god I miss that thread).

Iron Triangle Brewing Company is proud to introduce Darren Moser as brewmaster and partner. We are extremely excited to have him on the team so expect great things to come! #irontrianglebrewing #irontrianglebeer #artdistrict #downtownla #dtla #craftbeerla #labeer STAY TUNED!!!
