God its true. IT'S ALL TRUE!

Most of the cheaper beers I have not sampled in years and the only reason I drink pioneer beers is because I am either forced (no other options) or they made a newer beer which usually is lackluster. GOD I am such a TICKER!

I agree some are pretty rare mentions with only half the list I ever sampled the guy sounds like spending 40 dollars for a beer isn't a big deal. HELLO! 40 dollars for a beer never happens! Allagash Curieux I think I seen for 30 but who wants to blow that kind of dough >:d

I'd drink Curieux more often if it weren't so expensive.

I'd also drink Double Jack more often if I could ever find fresh bottles.

Super jealous of everyone having access to Peche Mortel. Only time I ever had a bottle was when I ordered it off of halftime beverage.

Damn! Forgot I had a Peche in the fridge, thanks article, drinking it now  buy more tomorrow. I know I'm in Canada but even us West Coasters only recently got this regularly. Sits on shelves (isn't that what beer stores are for?) but it's generally a somewhat recent batch.

Can't say I have forgotten Double Jack, though I often find myself going the Union Jack route instead. Like tonight for example. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you ever get anywhere close to Covington / Newport in Kentucky, there's a store called The Party Source which will have at least 8 of the beers from this list in stock.

I don't think they get Allagash, and I don't remember ever seeing the Kaiser there. The rest, I've seen every single time I've walked in.

Aventinus hooked me back when I first started drinking good beer & STILL to this day w/all I have tried since is my hands down favorite beer.
If I was told by my PCP to give up beer this would be the one that would be left standing.

Unfortunately, I could not get the link to open, but when I saw Peche Mortel discussed in the posts, I thought I would add my view on this. Peche Mortel does not need to be discussed. It does not need hype, or fanfare, or a constant stream of back slapping. It does not need press. Greatness speaks for itself. Peche Mortel is simply one of the best beers in this world. I feel fortunate to have been able to access it more or less continuously for many years. If I had only five beers I could drink for the rest of my life, this would be one of them.

If I could afford #1 on a regular basis I might not have taste buds.

I'm surprised Old Rasputin didn't make it's way on the list. That's a classic!

I would drink Curieux if Allagash hadn't jacked up its price so much.

Not quite the case - aside from the FW, Allagash, all the other beers in that list are distributed in KY and not really difficult to find if you live in Louisville or Lexington. Even saw the Bon Chien at Whole Foods a couple of times in the past.

Cool, I don't know; I've never been to a liquor store in Kentucky. Thanks for the correction.

Great list. Not a fan of Weinstephaner personally, it's a great beer, just not a style I personally enjoy. Blauw and Aventinus are simply delicious. But man oh man is this article and thread making me appreciate the fact that I can get Peche Mortel at about 10 different stores in my area any day...
