Thanks for your reply. It is very tempting to get up super early tomorrow morning and take the 5 hour drive there.

I'll prob be rolling in around 2:30. not too worried about getting in early, as there seems to be plenty left?

Thursday and Friday reminded me of the bitter release. This should be around for quite some time.

It was picking up around noon, but lots left. Wish they'd up the limits to 4 after the first few days.

Anyone had this yet? My buddy and I cracked one camping last night and thought it was tropical funky gold! Such a smooth release, tons left today as well....

It's very good, which is par for the course for the R&Ds and NG in general. I had the older vintage of it ('09?) at the two-year mark and it was absolutely great. I urge all who bought some to sit on the lion's share of them. It will go through stages where it's off and then on again, but that's the nature of Brett beers unfortunately.

I talked to someone at the Central Waters Black Gold release who said he tried one. Told me it was awful, tasted like a barnyard and old wet gym socks..

I haven't tried one yet, but I imagine I won't have the same opinion.

Yeah, not sure what he was tasting, it was good enough for me to go back on Sunday and grab two more.

I highly doubt it, but give them a call before you make the drive

True, because this would be one monster of a drive.

Would the brett get more or less pronounced after a year of cellaring? Did a brief search of the cellaring forum and there didn't seem to be a consensus over there.

It will be different. The brett will continue to evolve, what that will do to the beer is always a gamble.

What he said....on the hard hat tour they said the same thing. The brewer running the tour said it will be a different beer every 8-10 months as the yeast changes.

That's good news. I was thinking of heading to Madison around the beginning of November for a long weekend and would make a pitstop at NG. Knowing they might still have this on-hand is great to hear. Would be nice to have a few back at home.
